Seriously your all still denying it when it is literally right in your faces? Dead Space 2 was a clear example what is going to happen and so was Dragon Age 2. Both games had waves and waves of enemies attacking you and the only to continue was to kill them.
And that's why In Utter Darkness was the best campaign mission in SC2.

Not sure why gameplay mechanics have anything to do with anything in multiplayer.
