I didn't think there was, but i'm getting a crap load of Shales crystals in my current awakening playthough... I wouldn't think they would be in there unless i could unlock shale somehow.

Even though you can get crystals, Shale is not available in Awakening.

you get to work with golems in the next (mini) expansion (but not Shale)
