I have the Origins Disc.
The completed save game for Origins is on my PS3.

I purchased Awakenings via Disc at Best Buy yesterday.
Installed patch and expansion.

Right after installing the expansion it says something like
"you need to insert the Origins CD because Awakenings needs some info from Origins"

So I insert Origins .... NOTHING.  No mention of Awakenings.

I'm able to login to Bioware Servers with the Origins CD installed.
I think Awakenings logs in too.

ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?  Where do I start?
Which tech support should I contact - PS3, Bioware or EA?

Note:
I played Origins before the PS3 Security Breach and shut down.
As we all know, I had to change my PS3 password.
Could that be causing the problem?

hmmm. Did you click on "New Campaign" and see if Awakening is listed? It all runs through DAO.

If not, you can delete the DAO game data. Install DAO, then Awakening. Then and only then apply whatever patches are out there. That's about all we can offer as solution.

You'd contact Bioware tech support if my brain is working right.

There is one alternative. You could return Awakenings if its still in the time frame, and buy the Ultimate Edition. Far less trouble with it all on one disc. When its on sale or buying it used, I thin it costs as much as Origins or Awakening new in store right now, but you get far more.

Hi thanks for replying. I went to EA and submitted question. Waiting to hear back. The thread at top of this forum says EA is right tech support. But I'll look for Bioware tech support, too.

I did insert DA-O and started a new game. Nothing there about Awakenings. Just a row of new characters to select. I even selected a character and looked for an Awakenings menu. Nothing. But you say "new campaign" - I'll have to look at the menus again. Do not think I saw that either.

Not sure if Best Buy will return any opened game. But I'll give them a call. Might even check into Downloading the Expansion from Playstation Network. I think I paid $29 for the disc at Best Buy.

So strange .... what a waste of time.

Seems like PS3 is riddled with problems. Or maybe it's EA or Bioware. Shouldn't be this difficult.

I have the origins disc and the awakening disc also. I have completed the game one the first disc and I cant get the second disc to work.. It keeps giving me an error message. "Dragon Age: Origins game date is requried for Dragon Age: Awakenings. Please eject disc and insert your Dragon Age: Origins disc." I have done this many times and I still can't get it to work.. Could anyone help me please.

I am also having this problem, and it is very frustrating. I spent 60+ hours going through Origins getting my character really powerful and with all the best gear that transfers over to Awakening and all the abilities that are best employed in both games... and I can't play him!

I put in Awakening and go to start a game and it says 'Origins Disc Required' to import an origins character. So I go and put in the Origins disc and there's nothing for Awakening. There's an update with Awakening, but when I go to install it I am told that a more recent update has been installed already, and this one isn't needed.

I've already imported Origins characters to Awakening... the first time I played it. It's really frustrating that now I am unable to do so. I don't want to remake the level 23 character as a level 18 character for Awakening, only to not have the same abilities, stats, and items. It's total bullsh*t.

Someone please advise regarding this issue please.
Thank you.
