More text is needed ... but anyhow, my favs:

1. Ashley Williams
Was part of my squad in almost every ME-mission since I never used a soldier class on my own but mostly Infiltrator, got romanced every single ME playthrough.
Nice character development.

2. Urdnot Wrex
'nuff said. Hope he'll return in ME3 as a squadmember. Picked him often for missions.

3. Tali'Zorah
I have a thing for her. Was a bit sad she wasn't romanceable in ME ... and I don't cheat on Ash in ME2.

4. Garrus Vakarian
Good man, in my eyes second in command. I simply like him. Have him on most missions in both ME and ME2.

5. Miranda Lawson
When it comes to sexiness, she's my 2nd fav. Used her in most missions because of her useful powers. Too bad all of my Shepards are faithful to first romance ...

6. Mordin Solus
Who doesn't like hamsters on caffeine? Didn't saw a lot of action, but he's fun to talk to.

7. Zaeed Massani
Dark mirror of a paragon Shepard. I also like his facial structure - really looks like an old warhorse.

8. Thane Krios
Used him often in missions. Also a character with some deepness. I like the line when he thanks you for being a friend.

9. Kasumi Goto
She's awesome.

10. Liara T'Soni
I like her as a friend and powerful source. Saw a lot of action in ME.

11. Kaidan Alenko
Was permanent squadmember in first third of ME, but later didn't leave the ship before Virmire again ... somehow, other members were a bit more useful ...

12. Legion
Came too late. Awesome, but too late.

13. Jacob Tylor
He's okay, but nothing special. His LM was quite annoying and a bit constructed. He saw extensive use in first third of the game but got replaced by better suiting squaddies later.

14. Samara
Interesting background, but could use some extras. She saw some missions when not picking Miranda.

15. Grunt
BEST fighter in ME2. I love him. Too bad he's a bit too simple when it comes to character - especially when comparing to Wrex.

16. Subject Zero
She's okay. I rarely used her in my squad, mostly because I had enough biotics to choose from. Also I don't really like her background.

Hell, I wouldn't even take Thane around for missions on my insanity run, even though he had warp; I just don't like him at all.

I'm pretty disappointed Wrex won't be a perma-squaddie in ME3, but to be honest maybe it's for the best since in ME1 I pretty much just took him and Liara on every single mission.

hehe.  my list actualy goes:  love -> like - > meh  with Zaeed being the only squadmate I'm meh about.  mostly casue he's damn useful i na fight and has some amusing commentary, but I dislike his personality type in general.  Thane almost ended up in meh category as well, but there were parts about his romance that I found lovely enough to move himinto "like" category.

I enjoyed the Thane romance, it was pretty sweet....

The strongest emotion I can work up to with certain characters is.... *fanfare... du..duda da da da daaaa...* boredom... as in just really bored of seeing them all the time like they matter more than others.. that's about it.. I think. I just feel that by the time I get the game I will be so desensitised by the over exposure that I just won't use them... And that is a shame...

 1. Garrus - He is my Shepard's best friend and has been with him through thick and thin. He is my Shepard's second in command and is the only person I trust to Command the Normandy in my absense. He has been in my squad every mission in both games since his recruitment. He is tied with Revan as my favorite video game character.

2. Wrex - This Krogan always kept me entertained. He was a wise and powerful Krogan Warlord with an interesting back story that always had something funny to say. He is one of my favorite's in ME1 and a constant member of my squad. Hope he is a squadmate in some shape or form in ME3

3. Legion -  This character surprised me. He showed another side to the geth no one knew of and was one of the most interesting characters bioware has created. My only regret was him coming so late into the story. I would have brought him on far more missions.

4. Tali/ Liara - These two are tied for the number four spot being my two canon characters I romance. Liara has always been an interesting character and her becoming the Shadow Broker only increased my interest. Plus she has one if not the best Romances with the most content. Tali is also quite an interesting character. Her character truely developed in the second game to something much deeper than just a quarian back story character. Her romance was also one if not the best romance. Call me a sucker for hidden love. The fact that she loved you in the first one but was too shy to admit it won me over. She is a constant in my squad and is with me nearly every mission since her recruitment.

5. Mordin - He is the very model of a scientist salarian and has set the bar for salarians. If they aren't as cool as Mordin they don't deserve to be on the Normandy. From his sex ed advice to bursting into song, this character was one of my favorites of ME2. He also had one of the best back stories with his genophage connections. He was a constant in my squad rotation until Tali was recruited

6. Thane - this spiritual assassin won me over with his wisdom and composure in the face of his certain death. He also reminded me of one of my closest friends so it was inevitable that he would become one of my favorites. He could use some more back story tho.

7. Kasumi - Let's face it. She is without a doubt the best written and enjoyable of the human squadmates created and she's a DLC character. Her witty humor and ninja/theif antics won me over and her shadow strike ability is amazing. Plus who doesn't want to see what's on that damn greybox?

8. Ashley - She's a bit judgemental of aliens but she's got her reasons. I'll admit I hated this character originally and when she suggested not giving the aliens access to the Normandy's systems I told her to shut the hell up. I actually let her die the first play through of ME. But on my second I listened to her back story more and came to care for the Character. She's not a racist, she just holds a tiny grudge against aliens for her family being black listed. Which is understandable. I generally like this character now and look forward to having her with me in ME3.

9. Grunt - He wasn't Wrex. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this Krogan. He was generally entertaining and was a constant in my squad rotation until Tali was recruited. While he didn't have much depth and was more the typical Krogan he was fun to have around and I enjoyed being his mentor like I was to Garrus in ME1. Looking forward to him on my squad again in ME3 if he is available. But if I have to choose between him and Wrex....sorry Grunt you are left behind.

10. Samara - The Justicar is an interesting character and it was cool to hear her stories through her life. It was also nice that bioware finally gave us a character that flat out rejects Shepard since not everyone in the galaxy has the hots for shep. I enjoyed her back story but never took her off the ship. I'll enjoy seeing her again in ME3 but I'm fine with her not on the squad again.

11. Zaeed - He is the polar opposite to my paragon Shepard. I loved it. Hearing his old war stories earned my respect. At least until Zorya. I put him in his place there and gained his loyalty without killing Vido. I'm looking forward to seeing what the bastard has got himself into in ME3. Looking forward to being big goddamn heroes with him again.

12. Jack - I liked this character's back story and after everything she's been through, it's no surprise she's as f*cked up as she is. I tried to help her open up to Shepard and I think I had a good influence on her. My only regret with this character is that I couldn't just be friends with her and help her. After telling her I wasn't interested in her she just shut me out. Which was unfotunate. I will love to see how she's changed in ME3

13. Miranda - I didn't like her much at first. I'll be honest. She was kind of ****y towards my Shepard at first and I didn't appritiate it. I also hated the fact that she called herself my second in command when that was clearly Garrus' job. While her genetic alteration was interesting I didn't find myself actually caring for this character as much as others. I hope bioware builds upon her further in ME3 to increase my interest. However her 180 on loyalty to Cerberus is one of my favorite parts of ME2. Seeing her tell the Illusive man to F*ck off and supporting my decision of destroying the base is a shinning moment for me and made me like Miranda more.

14 Jacob - He's been straight up with you since the Beginning of ME2 and I respect that. He seems like a good friend of my Shepard. I was just disappointed on the lack of back story with him. I wanted to hear more about his time as a Corsair. But it never happened. Hopefully we'll learn more about him in ME3 He was cool but just stayed on the Normandy for the most part. I hope he's a Corsair again in ME3 since he quit Cerberus. 

15. Kaidan - While he is my least favorite, I in no way dislike him. He just seemed to much like Carth from Kotor and I felt he had done his duty by the time Virmire happened. No....... you don't have any animosity do you? *cynical*
Firstly, he shares the same voice actor and that is the only similarity, imo.... I think you should maybe replay KOTOR without any pre-conceptions  Carth is gruff and suspicious, Kaidan isn't, Carth gives you a hard time when you try and speak to him, Kaidan doesn't ~ the list of differences is far longer than the list of similarities (but I can't be bothered to bore people with it) honestly..... replay... What has actually happened is that people have been saying it for so long that everyone just thinks it is fact now.. 

No one outranks your Shepard? Hackett does for one and so do many other (albeit faceless) people in the Alliance military, lol.... there are a slew of folk who can tell Shepard what to do if Shepard is Alliance and if Shepard isn't, then Kaidan doesn't outrank and it doesn't matter... you may be worrying too much about a pretend person here  <<<<< JK
