Seeing as you can set both the primary and secondary world maps, is it possible to leave your primary world map as the default then set another as secondary during moduleload.
Then when the player interacts with a placeable, have it open the secondary world map?

OpenWorldMap takes an object, so yes, it should be possible to pass the secondary map.

I don't think it would even be necessary to declare the map as the secondary world map in order to open it like you want.
