Could anyone please tell me how to add mods. I was able to add a hair mod but when I try to add any other mod it doesn't work.

That depends on the mod you want to use. In general, mods can be installed either via a DAZIP file, or by moving the mod into your Override folder. You will have to view the Read Me of the mod in question to see which way is required.
To install DAZIP files on Mac OS X, you will have to download and use Modazipin. Just open any DAZIP file with it, and hit "Install".
To move a mod into your Override folder, got to ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override and move the mod files there.
