Im sure this is easy for someone :)

I followed the guide here social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Adding_a_Location_to_the_Single_Player_Campaign_Tutorial

for adding a new locationt to the map, and that works fine. When I add creatures to the map (which show as being there after save/check in) they do not appear when I visit the ingame location.

I have tried 'export with all dependancies; which looks to export the needed files also, but no sign when revisiting the area.

I couldnt find a tutorial on placing creatures, so sorry for the newbie question :)

Just tested this by adding a few placeables, and they do not appear neither.

Maybe you did a Post Local the first time instead of a Do All Local Post? In any case good to hear things are working.

The postings seem inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just keep trying different combinations. I've also tried placing the npcs slightly above the ground (an old TES technique), though I'm not sure if that is what finally got my npcs to appear.

I followed one of the video tutorials on creating a stand alone module and that worked fine. I then went back to the old tutorial on adding an area to the single player campaign, ran through all the settings and by the time I had done/rechecked everything it was then loading as normal :)

Just glad Id used the NWN toolset before :)

I tried using the various tutorials for creating a simple area and then adding it to the map with the tutorial listed in the OP and although the icon for the area showed on the map it was grayed out and unreachable. Can someone list and link which tutorials are necessary to get a simple area into the game from start to finish and in which order they should be followed. It would be nice if there was one simple basic start to finish tut to aid in understanding the work flow. As it is now I find myself jumping around or going in circles were I'm sure I must be missing something.

Bsett, there aren't any definitive tutorials yet (certainly the two on wiki - the area page and the area tutorial page - seem to be the best, but look at both of them), since most of the tutorial writers are still learning the toolset, too. Some of the tutorial steps were based on a pre-release build of the toolset, and other toolset functions seem to be buggy (BW appears to be working feverishly on a toolset patch, and the Devs are paying attention to what's going on here, which is nice to see.) It's kind of exciting to be a pioneer, but I agree that's its frustrating cobbling the relevant information together from various sources. It will get streamlined in the coming weeks, I'm sure. In the mean time, this seems to be the best place to tune into the builders' conversation.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll just keep plugging along until I either figure it out or that "all inclusive" tutorial becomes available. I think my problem is in the way that I am referencing the trail pin tags in the object inspector but with so many different aspects of the module that are interrelated it's hard to know for sure.
