I was thinking they should make a new origin story... human chaisnd. It makes sense to me in that you can play a human warrior/rogue who is not a noble, and also you would be in the wilds near ostagar so duncan could recruit you fairly easily for the storyline. Or maybe a quinari origin.
Origin idea

I think a whole new perspective is in order...just to make the sequel interresting...
Cat people!...make the male version a really broadshouldered Qunari sized tiger muscleman...and make the females Elf sized with no furr at their breasts and a cute tail sprouting from right above their butt...Call them Felinese!

I read somewhere that a Chasind origin was actually planned, but later scrapped.

Man thats disappointing... I mean for both elves and dwarves you have the nobler origins with dalish and dwarf noble and then coming from worse circumstances with the city elf and the casteless dwarf. If they were planning something with the chaisnd hopefully we'll get a quest/character/origin related to them. It just seems they were left out of the story after the beginning and could be fearsome fighters... alistair was afraid of morrigan leading a barbarian ambush on them when you get the treaties.... but now I'm rambling haha

Afaik the scrapped origins were Human Commoner and Human Barbarian, and likely many more in pre-production. The Barbarian could've been Chasind, I suppose.
As for a Quanari origin - no way. You'd need a completely different storyline to accomodate a Quanari.

I agree, i prefer the Qunari to remain mysterious and forgein. Alos it would change dialogue a lot....though it did work in Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines with the Malkavian blood line
