I've run into a snag. I want to use a different non-door placable and have it act like an area transition. So far I haven't figured out how to do this. I have duplicated other area transition doors and changed the visual but that hasn't worked. From what I've read, it has to have the "Area Transition" as part of its name in Appearance? That seems odd to me.
Any insight into this would be helpful.

Well, my current solution (just so I can keep moving on with the project) was to put invisible area transitions in front of the object. Now the player can "click" on the on the item to be teleported around the area.

A placeable's functionality is determined by its appearance. There are a number of area transition appearance provided but if the one you want doesn't exist you can create it by extending the placeable_types m2da (in placeables.xls) with your own custom m2da fragment.
