Can't believe it! I was thinking of writing my first OP ever with this same topic the day before yesterday.

So I basically agree with you, but I think that Ash is more like Renegon, Liara moved from Paragon to Paragade, and I think some characters wouldn't regard their own morality as you and I do.

With my Shepard as his mentor and best friend, he's always seemed like a paragade. Trying to do the right thing but strays off the path every now and then. But he's bound to be confused. I told him to be a spectre in ME1 and took the paragon route in ME2 by sparing Sidonis. I've always told him killing is the best solution when you don;t have any other option.

The rest seem accurate.

I don't mark with "paragade" and "renegon". I'd place Liara into Renegade, though I don't know how they'll shift her character in ME3. Rather keep it where it is in ME1.

You missed a category: Stupid. Samara and Morinth fit there perfectly.

The only squaddie I'd say is paragon is maybe Tali. Jacob is definitely not paragon if he's willing to give his father a loaded gun to kill himself  (and walk away and don't look back). The fact that he joined cerberus is a renegade move.

 I can understand classifying Jack as "Renegade" insofar as having a ruthless attitude in killing. But, in the few times she is opinionated of important things, she doesn't really match up with Renegade Shepard.

I would list Thane as more of a paragon since he cares about every innocent person in the universe. Even the ones he doesn't know.

I definitely prefer the chaotic-lawful scale. However I'd put Thane more under lawful evil, maybe sliding towards lawful neutral under Shepard's command.

He kills without conscience, and does it for money. He is good for the galaxy, but he isn't paragon.

You could say Garrus is a paragon because he only kills the wicked without civilian casualties. This is true, but it doesn't exactly make him an angel. He is ruthless and cold about it. Reading the SB's dossiers shows he killed a gang leader by shooting off all his extremities and burning him alive.
