Remember how in Awakening you had missions where you were doing the duties of Arl of Amerethine and had to make decisions ruling the land that had actual consequences (however minor) in the game?

Please vote here if you'd like quests like that in DA3: http://social.biowar...90/polls/25388/

Update: 10/7/11 - vast majority (93%) of people either LOVE or find the moderate amount of the concept interesting. Only 2 % dont care and remaining 3 didn't like Awakening's concept but are not against the concept in general.

0% (!!!!!!!!) dislike the concept altogether!!!

BioWare, take note :)

Only if it's relevant.

If they're done like they were in Awakening, where you just get a context-less info-dump and must make a yay or nay decision about it right away, no.  If they're woven into the overall plot, yes.

If they're like "A Day in Court", then yes.

I liked how the warden commander was also the Arl of Amaranthine and had responsibilties like this and others besides just killing. Not that I mind killing stuff, but it's fun being an important killer.

Yeah one of the few things I liked about Awakenings~ I liked that the Warden had other responsibilities once he/she becomes the commander. So it'd be nice to make some decisions and give orders to people in that setting. C'mon~ if it's true that rumor about DA3 going to Orlais it makes sense~

Yep.

More decisions and player influence on the world (when it makes sense, story-wise, like being a noble) is never a bad thing.

Come to think of it, Kirkwall's Champion had surprisingly little power or influence, except when we were told by NPCs that we'd been doing things and partying with nobles for three years.

Totally! I loved those. Not something I had played in a game before, so it was a neat twist.

As long as it makes sense in the narrative and isn't just shoe horned in, then sure.

only if it's relevant and only if they do a much better job of it. Alec the Sheepherder should've been training if he's put into the army and the people who are sent to prison should've actually been in the jail cells underneath the Keep (either the ones Nathaniel was in or the ones near the Avvar crypt)

Conceptually, I like the idea. But no I wouldn't want it done like Awakening.

My favorites were the ones where I had to do rulings between nobles I killed earlier gathering at that farm.

Wha? Who was lost with those? They were pretty clear cut and easy to understand.

And again, yes I want to do these again. You're doing your King Solomon gig. People come up to you, list their case, and you show your wisdom or lack of such.

It was great fun. Fable 3 tried to do this and failed miserably (because it's all tied to gold and if you have a lot of gold then there's no draw backs to any choice).

Those were fun to do and added to the sense of role playing.

I agree though that they could have more to do with the plot and have more visible effect.

Hah I remember how Lady Liza Packton employed foul necromancy magic to be able to rise up from the grave after I killed her, just to be a part of politics again.

Hell Yes!! A Day in Court was one of the best quests ever. Love playing politics and passing judgement, they had it in Fable 3 but it was very black and white - I didn't care though, was still fun and awesome

i agree. A few decisions as a ruler must be interesting, at least. Maybe some flashback to days, when Hawke is a Viscount or Che Magievara, before he dissapeared :)

This would work if bioware put the effort in & can build upon the "restore the vigil" aspect they half assed in awakening too

The closest example most of you would recognize would be from the assasin creed 2 & brotherhood games where this stuff was handled the correct way (ahhh i miss my assassin girl heirem suddenly)

Yep, definitely! I loove that sort of element in RPG's. And, frankly, if it was up to me, the whole "upgrade your fortress" thing from Awakening would also appear in DA3 in some (preferrably expanded) role... B)

I enjoyed these as well. Assuming it makes sense for the character I would absolutely love to see them again.
