Absolutely. Any kind of choice is great. Especially if they have an impact on gameplay in addition to plot.
Poll: Would you like DA3 to have Awakening-like "Day in Court" quests?

I wouldn't mind that. In fact that's something DA2 should have had since Hawke is a noble. Maybe DLC that focuses on post Mage/Templar conflict will have Hawke making some decisions we can carry over to DA3. The ending *was* a cliffhanger after all.

Yep, definitely! I loove that sort of element in RPG's. And, frankly, if it was up to me, the whole "upgrade your fortress" thing from Awakening would also appear in DA3 in some (preferrably expanded) role...
I also liked the upgradeable fortress.
Anyone remember the Suikoden games and how you upgraded from basically a run down fort to a castle? The 108 recruitable allies aren't suggested, though.

Not necessarily in the fashion of Awakening, but I like sections like those. The only two parts I really liked about NWN2 were the court and fort-building parts.

Update: 10/7/11 - vast majority (93%) of people either LOVE or find the moderate amount of the concept interesting. Only 2 % dont care and remaining 3 didn't like Awakening's concept but are not against the concept in general.
0% (!!!!!!!!) dislike the concept altogether!!!
BioWare, take note

I was actually expecting this in DA2, with all that "Rise to Power" pregame hype. I really shouldn't have expected it when Witch Hunt promised to answer all my questions and ended up answering none, but for some reason I still held onto my faith in BioWare.
I liked the idea in Awakenings but I think it should be expanded upon. The third act would have been greatly improved if Hawke had actually become Viscount and was making decisions which effected how the end game would turn out. With the amount of sidequests you could easily have broken them up and only had some accessable depending on what decisions you made. Plus if you did this then recycling environments wouldn't have been too much of an issue, as the environments could be broken up with the sidequest chains.
I have to stop now, I'm just imagining a side quest chain where you ****** of Meridith and she sends Crow assasins to take you out, and then an ME2 Thane like entrance for Zevran as he arrives just in time to help you take them out, and then having that decision make Zevran an available companion for the remainder of the game. Or you could choose to be a full on Chantry supporter and Lelianna replaces the slot for Zevran. <sigh> the wasted potential of this game makes me sad.

Yes. I loved it in Awakening because I was actually being an Arl and governing; the title wasn't empty. It's also worth noting that for any who disliked it, there was an option for the Seneschal to handle it instead.
As far as upgrading the fortress, I want to see more choice in how to do it. Instead of having to pay money for the first and then find stone for the second, I want to have to choose what is done to upgrade the fortress, which would change how the battle unfolds.
