OK, so I'm done playing ME & ME2 for the time being.  I think I'll catch up on a few other games I've been meaning to play over the last couple of years.  But as I reflect back on many many many hours of Mass Effect playthroughs, there have always been a few pesky little things that bothered me.  By no means do they detract from my love of the game but I cringe a bit when they occur then I move on and forget about them.

Here's a few to begin with.  Please add your own.  I may add more if this post gets any action.

- Shep's goofy face when she tries Rupert's calamari gumbo
- You'd think Shep's SR1 helmet would be be more prominently displayed in her cabin after retrieving it from the     crash site
- Pink Armour (c'mon...really?)
- Insert Disk Two
- The cabs/space cars on Illium look like flying mittens
- Why is Sgt Kafka still using a Zippo to light his cigarette in the 23rd century...why are they still smoking for that matter?
- How come Garrus's new armour (after gaing his loyalty) has damage in the same place he got hit by the gunship in his recruitment mission?

~shrugs~

Add more if you want to.

That was Shepard learning why you don't trust a cook who cleans the toilets and then fails to wash his hands.

You'd think Shep's SR1 helmet would be be more prominently displayed in her cabin after retrieving it from the     crash site

To do so would be bad Feng Shui

- Pink Armour (c'mon...really?)

Hey! When you invade that fuzzy planet Joker mentioned you'll be glad to have the appropriate camoflague!

- Insert Disk Two

It just isn't Mass Effect without some kind of insertion.

- Why is Sgt Kafka still using a Zippo to light his cigarette in the 23rd century...why are they still smoking for that matter?

Smoking makes you look cool.

-alternative-

Batarians don't die from smoking in the Mass Effect universe, they die from Shepard's smoking rifle.

- How come Garrus's new armour (after gaing his loyalty) has damage in the same place he got hit by the gunship in his recruitment mission?

Garrus Vakarian's armor wasn't damaged by the rocket. It was damaged by the fact that no armor can handle Garrus Vakarian.

You are right, these are petty.

Because hanar have a bitter aftertaste.

- You'd think Shep's SR1 helmet would be be more prominently displayed in her cabin after retrieving it from the     crash site

How more prominent can you get then sitting out in the open?

- Pink Armour (c'mon...really?)

That's the default femShep armor right?

Insert Disk Two

Fortunately don't have to deal with that myself

- The cabs/space cars on Illium look like flying mittens

Gotta give you that.  Doesn't bother me.

- Why is Sgt Kafka still using a Zippo to light his cigarette in the 23rd century...why are they still smoking for that matter?

That's a plasma lighter.  And cigarettes cure cancer in the future.

- How come Garrus's new armour (after gaing his loyalty) has damage in the same place he got hit by the gunship in his recruitment mission?

He just paints it with some Krylon he got at Citadel-Mart

Adding more.... hmmm

-Shepard could have come up with something better to say to Ash on Horizon.  "It's been too long."  He did deserve the reaction he got from her after that line.
-Garrus calibrating the guns endlessly instead of having more dialogue.
-Kasumi dressed in her standard armor going to Hock's party, when Shepard has to wear a suit.

Rupert got confused between tentacles, and testicles.

- You'd think Shep's SR1 helmet would be be more prominently displayed in her cabin after retrieving it from the crash site

I's have it sitting upside down on the coffee table, and holding peanuts.

- Pink Armour (c'mon...really?)

Ugly Shepard looks quite manly in it.

- Insert Disk Two

Buy a real PC, and not a tinker toy thats pretending not to be one.

- The cabs/space cars on Illium look like flying mittens

Incorrect. They look like electric shavers.

- Why is Sgt Kafka still using a Zippo to light his cigarette in the 23rd century...why are they still smoking for that matter?

He's a retro hipster.

- How come Garrus's new armour (after gaing his loyalty) has damage in the same place he got hit by the gunship in his recruitment mission?

He forgot to adjust the parameters on the replicator.

THIS! This was my number one annoyance! Unskippable intro logos and clips are a pet peeve of mine to begin with. To have such a ridiculously long sequence as unskippable was like they looked into my mind and used what they found to create a gaming hell designed just for me. Why did it not occur to anyone that people might replay the fewkin game; and that on a replay they might not want to sit through the long cutscenes they have already watched before?

PC users can take the hints from the first 2 posts in this thread and get into the game within just a few minutes.

Console owners will just have to put up with the game the way it was designed.

The linearity of the dossiers and loyalty missions in the PC version, only because the game had to fit on two Xbox discs.
