There is certainly an input delay bug - I've hit the 'power attack' button for my spear, and then nothing happened for a good four or five seconds, at which point I did the attack (at an entirely inopportune time, of course).

This happened me once, when i was 1 chaos-fireball away from killing Sif.
I was under him, pressed L1 ,nothing happend.
Should have rolled away but my mind was a bit late to figure something was wrong.

And my character is now officialy a dog food. (was cat food before...)

Yeah... I almost died to lots of enemies trying to down a potion and nothing happens.

That doesn't discourage button mashing, it enables it.

Lol, so he won't effect completion of the game at least?

Need a safety catch on my sword.

Its kind of funny going from this game to Arkham City. In Arkham, randomly mash buttons in a fight and amazing things happen. In Dark Souls, randomly mashing buttons means I die even faster.

Yesterday, I beat both Nito and Bed of Chaos.

Nito: Just don't go back around to his coffin and you won't have large skeletons to contend with

Bed of Chaos: I died a couple times. First time, the floor wouldn't collaps and I died from attacks, I ran out of flasks. Second time, it killed me while I was trying to jump to the root, actually I tried the jump and missed due to being too far left.

When I finally did it, I almost missed the root but luckily I landed just where the limit to hitting it was. I thought I was going to die.

Today, the 4 Kings shall died by my hand. I just opened the flood gates. Then after I kill them, it will be time to farm for the colored and normal Titanite Shards.

I was fighting Queelag and hit the button to drink from the Estus flask. Nothing happened until about four seconds later when I needed to roll away from lava, and my character resolutely decided that now would be a good time to drink the potion. I didn't survive. Back to the ol' Blight Town bonfire.

I made it to my NG+. All I need is 3 more Sun Medals and to defeat the 4 kings without talking to Frampt to join the Darkwraiths and I'm good.

I got all the weapon trophies for upgrading and the only Miracles I need are for reaching Sun +1 and handing in the final boss's soul.

NG+ really amps the damage you receive up, Havel's Gear looks like it's a must. I upgraded the Black Knight armor all 4 to +5 which has more defense than Ornstein's and I'm getting beat up. Havel's can't be upgraded, but it appears to have the best defense of any armor in the game.

Now that I've beat the game... Twice, I got some new insight.

The game is frustrating on NG+, it's a huge leap in difficulty... Up until you reach the final boss that is, he doesn't get much of a boost, if he hit me he only did one segment of health and it's easy as hell to parry him. You just got to watch out for his grab and now how to dodge his jumping slash in the beginning.

So, all that heartache and pain fighting the Four Kings, and the final boss goes down without a sweat. I found out the Crystal Ring Shield works wonders against them, with it I was able to defeat each king more or less 1 on 1, except for the last one but their health was almost gone. I was using my trusty Lightning Zweihander +4 in my right hand and just used L2 to attack them.

I hope the shield doesn't get patched, if it does then there's no reason for me to start a new character and get to NG+. That shield was a lifesaver and I don't have the patience to try and beat the game on NG+ and beyond without it. I'm at level 439 and there were some troubles.

Turned out that The Dragon Greatsword wasn't that great for my character after-all, the magical strong attack was great though and thus I keep it in my inventory whenever I need to attack an enemy from far away but I'm still using my Black Knight Sword (now +5) which I received early on in the game from The Black Knight in the Undead Burg.

RPGamer, you found the four kings hard? I seriously swear that they allowed me kill them because there are some non-boss enemies that are tougher. Some kings they are. Pathetic. I spit on them and their legacy and history.

I'm talking about on NG+, enemies get a huge boost, except for the final boss... Go figure.

I ended up starting anew because, well, my 'main' character is in pretty bad shape because I more or less randomly upgraded. And killed the Pyromancy trainer.

What a difference it makes when you -know- all the little secrets and tells. Got to the same point as my main character in about a quarter of the time. And Pyromancy is almost unfair, to the degree that I've stopped using it because it really is absurdly powerful.

Trying to see if I can join the Darkwraith Covenant this playthrough.

Pyromancy may be absurdly overpowered but it's fun, it's possibly the only way I beat the game before having to return it to the rental store. :P

Pyromancy is very powerful, all you have to do is have enough souls to upgrade and access to Laurentius and Quelaana. Even on NG+ it does between 400-600 damage to most enemies.

If it wasn't for Pyromancy not using Stamina and the Crystal Ring Shield, I would not have been able to tolerate NG+ and beyond. Dragonslayer Spear made from Ornstein's Soul helped out too.

When I got to the final boss on a fresh game, maxed out Black Knight Halberd did over 900 damage with a Riposte. The same results for NG+, I think they didn't even tweak the final boss' stats at all if any.

There is 1 more or 2 more if you have upgraded your "burning gloves" +10  trainers for Pyromancy :)

And if you think Pyromancy is almost unfair try an INT based character with a fully upgraded magical spear/halberd.

Darkwraiths have very nice PVP bonuses and Dark Hand weapon is one of the coolest looking/serving in game but they are pretty evil, Chaotic Evil even i can say.
And rumor has it, you automatically have the "bad" ending if you finish while enlisted by them.

That is not true at all. I finished my NG+ as a Darkwraith and I was still given the option of linking the fire or walking away. It's a good thing too because I had already got the Dark Lord ending by accident.

The linking ending was far too disappointing for my tastes, least the Lord one has you feel like you're this ultimate badass who just made Dark Souls your female dog in heat.

I'm currently stuck on choosing which type of character to play as next. I am tempted to try a pyromancy/str type build and get the weapon from the gaping dragon. Only thing is pyromancy like said is hideously overpowered and it might make all future alt characters pale in comparison. The spells themselves look fun as heck though.

Another one i'm contemplating on is a "nightblade" type of character that is dex/int based and uses the sorcery spells acquired by Dusk. The dexterity based weapons usually have a lot more flair and elegance to them then their str counterparts which I like. Not to mention the thought of camouflaging yourself as a bush, and ambush some unaware player just as he's just about to pick that eastern armor.

So it's either the sneaky, nimble nightblade, or The pyromancer powerhouse. I could propably do both, but the game is really huge and I don't really have the time or patience for that. Decisions Decisions >_<.

Go fot STR/Faith type and get yourself a nice axe/hammer and upgrade it to Divine.
Sun Spear is one the coolest looking Miracles in the game, Sunlight Weapon is also a nice looking and a powerfull lighting buff (but you cannot use it with +divine magic weapons) .
And you can use Homeward for quick travel.

Contains spoilers about Solaire of Astora:

NOOOOO!!!! Solaire of Astora! Noooo!!! My best character! Damn it! No. He got possessed in my playthrough by a chaos bug. I was forced to kill him. Shame really because I wanted him to survive. He actually has three different fates. Becoming hollow, being possessed or helping you in the final boss fight.

My praise for this game has gone up. Yeah, the characters aren't exactly as good as Bioware characters but the fact that they develop throughout the game and have different fates makes the characters of Dark Souls have feeling.

The worst part was when I opened the art book of Dark Souls today, I saw the bug that had possessed him close up and it looked disgusting. Such a bad fate for the best character in the damn game.

RIP Solaire of Astora. May you find the sun that you seek in the afterlife. God bless you my friend.

Yeah, saving Solaire is one of those things you either a) get lucky or b)have to look it up and already know what to do before hand

And people wonder why I actually like spoilers and looking ahead at guides....

What?  That's only one of the most known legendary creatures in existence: the infamous Hydra.

Yeah im missing Solaire of Astora too, helped me in so many battles :/

Game has a fantastic story, but it never tells you directly and you need to talk everyone in right time to trigger some nice story events (theres an assasination i still cannot believe) You need to choose a certain gift at start for revealing more of the untold story.

And so many NPCs going hallowed or getting killed while game continues...  At least we can save 1 or 2 on the way.(With a lot of efort of course)

I really think about how a proper RPG can From games make, if they wish.

The only thing consistent with the Hydra mythos is that it has multiple heads and cutting one off makes it split into two more heads.

The Hydras are actually not that bad. There's two, that one and one in Ash Lake.

In that fight, there's two or three crystal golems that attack from behind, make sure to take them out. It sprays water if you're too far away, pretty easy to dodge. What you do is you go into the water and it will more than likely try to attack with its heads, it's accuracy is crap and until you cut off the first two, you're likely going to be close to one to blindly attack it.

The last head is harder to hit because it slams down further away from you. And if you're not fast enough, you won't get a chance to hit it.

Thanks. Not sure why I thought it was 7.

I'm at level 30 at the moment, just killed that Demon with the 2 dogs with him, so have the key for the Depths, is it best to explore the depths prior to the darkroot gardens/basin?

Also, I've purchased a few sorceries, magic weapon and shield and soul arrow, can't seem to get magic weapon to work, any ideas?
