It can only be cast on weapons not upgraded to Lightning/Fire/Crystal/Magic/Enchanted/Chaos... well, you get the idea
Also, it cannot be used on weapons upgraded with Sparkling Titanite, Demon Titanite, Dragon Scales.
I do not know if you can cast magic weapon on Raw weapons. But I also don't understand the purpose of Raw weapons as it doesn't add any special properties and decreases the attack power. Rumor has it that it bestows Bleed damage, but the bleed value of a weapon doesn't change. So, I can neither confirm nor deny it.
I just made a raw weapon for the trophy.
And like Cyberarmy said, it enchants the right hand weapon so you need the catalyst equipped in the left.

Nearly invisible, untargetable enemy player throwing fireballs up my ass? Screw you.
Other than that and item dupes, soul glitches etc. the game has turned out to be all I was hoping for. I love it. I haven't felt this punished for being a gamer since Demon Souls.

With the crappy scaling, that makes them worse than their +15 counerparts.
Someone should test this.

You need to either A) use a divine weapon orkill the necromancer. He's a guy with a beard and a torch, and each group of skeletons has one. Once he's dead, skeletons won't reanimate - or, as mentioned, you can just use a divine weapon and it'll have the same effect.
Haven't come across any divine weapons. Will come back to the xatacombs when I discover one.

You have to defeat the Moonlight Butterfly to be able to get the Divine Ember and give it to the Blacksmith in New Londo. Divine isn't very strong itself so I recommend a stronger weapon than the Washing Pole or Scimitar.

I have absolutely no idea why they put that stupid ring of fog in the game. Maybe if the two people were using it would be cool, but the person with the ring on has such a big advantage. If someone comes up with that crap I usually take them to a ledge and then just use "force" to push them off. I like how angry they get afterwards, though. I thought Wrath of Gods and Firestorm where bad in Demon's Souls, but in this one it seems like everyone uses that stupid ring. Anyways, I don't mind Warth of Gods or Firestorm as much as the Ring of Fog; I can usually get a good backstab on them or just roll away before they cast.
Anyways, I just finished the Painted World of Araimis or however you spell it. The game has been pretty easy for me; although, Orstein and Smough took a few tries. Actually, so far the hardest person I've fought was Knight Lautrec because I forgot those Shotels go through shields (kind of like Yurt). I like how the backtracking has been minimalized, though. There is no difficulty in having to wade through a ton of enemies before a boss it's just annoying is all. The forest Covenant was a freaking joke. I tore through them and the Great Wolf Sif at level 28.
I just really need to find a good weapon so I can finish my build and focus on Endurance, Vit, and Faith. I'm thinking of using the Greatsword of Artorias, but something about the size makes me cringe. Maybe I can just go with the Scythe I see everyone using--looks cool too.

The requirements on the GSoA are pretty ridiculous, and it's probably not going to hit hard unless you're at a very high soul level.

Also, anyone know if there is a way to block being cursed? Was exploring the depths a bit deeper and got gassed when I landed, thought it was poison and thought the black spider shield would protect.

- Some magic effects have been revised. (Magic Shield, Greater Magic Shield, Tranquil Walk of Peace, Ring of Fog, Iron Flesh)
- Elemental enhanced and Stat enhanced weapons have been rebalanced.
- Some slight adjustments have been made to other weapons, equipment, and magic. (Pyromancer's Flame's magic adjustment)
- Matching and multiplayer conditions have been adjusted.
- Defeating a boss in multiplayer will now reward the host with the full amount of souls from the boss.
- When failing to invade a player's world using the Cracked Red Eye Orb, the item will no longer be used up.
- Adjustments to the amount of suols dropped by enemies.
- Adjustments to the item drops from enemies.
- Some bosses will drop Humanity and Homeward Bones now.
- Increased Drop rates for certain Covenant items and Equipment Enhancement materials which had extremely low drop rates.
- Adjusted the Item Discovery increase rate which scales with Humanity levels.
- Item lists in shops have been adjusted. (Bottomless Box added to Male Undead Merchant. Bunch of arrows added to Female Undead Merchant, Andrei, Domnhall, Giant Blacksmith, and Vamos. - Lock-on behavior has been adjusted.
- Fixed certain cases of game freezing.
- Changed the way souls are displayed in the Level Up Menu.
- Fixed the exploit with infinite weapon/magic usage.
- Fixed the 1 second delay during certain attack animations.
- Fixed the bug where Solaire isn't in New Game+.
- Fixed the shard bug with Frampt which took away all your shards if you had more than 99.
- Fixed getting stuck in certain parts of the map, being unable to progress.
- Fixed various English translation errors in the overseas version of the game.

I think this automatically the infinite humanity/soul exploit because they can be done in same way.
Edit: At first i really ignored the soul glitch, thinking that their soul levels are much more higher than me so there is no way that servers match them with me.
Then Forest Hunter Cov. summoned me to a player in the forest who can move faster then in Havels Armor set and Shiled while he is one handing Brandt.
I just jumped to my death

HP lowered on some mobs?
Why? <_< Oh well, at least I got to complete the game in it's vanilla state at least once. And rest of the patch notes seem good.
Edit, well at least as vanilla as it first was when it came to europe.
