There are numerous DLCs in the DAO Ultimate edition.  When I read the descriptions of the DLCs, with the campaigns, they're saying there are new rewards/items that will be transferred to DAO or Awakening.  I'm lost.  Does that mean I have to play the DLC and finish the game first before I can get the rewards/items transferred to DAO, then create a new game with DAO to get those rewards/items?  Or do I have to finish the DLC, and load a saved game in DAO to get the rewards/items?  Or the rewards/items are transferred automatically DAO whether I played the DLS or not?  I already started playing DAO, but do want the items/rewards transferred over from DLC to DAO.  It's a pain to finish the DLC first before the rewards/items can transfer to DAO, and create a new character in DAO again to make use those rewards/items.  Please help.

Once you unlock any bonus item, it will become available for all your (both ongoing and subsequent) DAO characters. You do need to actually play the DLC to unlock the items.

I'd recommend completing vanilla DAO at least once before worrying about the bonus items.

Ditto the above. Play DAO once without any special bonus stuff. It's more fun that way. Plus there won't be any spoilers.
