If Garrus dies, I'm done. Throwing in the towel; making like a tree and leaving; flying the coop; hitting the road. All those, in that order.

Be able? Yes.

Being much more likely than in that so-called "Suicide"mission? Damn straight I hope. I wan't to earn a good ending, not getting it served on a silver plate.

Inevitable death? Hell no.

I don't think it's true. It wouldn't be a good idea to single one popular team member out for a forced death (not even Garrus, says this one who doesn't much like him), and even they did it, they definitely wouldn't spoil it.

On the other hand, a Virmire scenario with Garrus and Tali would certainly fulfil the promise that ME3 will make you cry, for many players.

I don't think such spoiler would be given to a magazine, nor tolerated in this forum.

If we get another virmire scenario I will not be happy. As someone said I don't mind them being ABLE to die but a forced death? Heck no I don't want that.

That was my biggest problem about ME2. I shouldn't have to try to get the worst ending possible.

Sometimes it feels kinda boring when everyone survives.

But that's just me.

I probably would just shrug it off and continue my play through and do things differently next time.

Trust me, absolutely no one in this game will have plot armour, not if one of the endings is the Reapers kill all, which it most likely will have. Even then squaddies will be able to die beforehand like in ME2. I think Bioware mentioned something along those lines. if I remember correctly,

ME3 deserves a few Virmire scenes in my opinion.

I'm actually convinced that Shepard will die in ME3, as it's been speculated that whatever is keeping Shepard alive is Reaper tech put inside his body. I've got a feeling however we beat the Reapers shutting them all down (I doubt we will kill each one in a shootout) will also kill Shepard.

I don't think we should trust anything said by anyone yet, even bioware. But if this is somehow true would this mean that Garrus is the ME3 team traitor?

I hope not.

I think it is evident the utmost account of people don't just want one-dimensional deaths. Virmires yes, possibly quite some of those situations are alike in which decision go at the expense of deaths of one or another, situations that pit individual squadmates or even a small group of two or three well developed characters (including squadmates) against a greater strategic goal where you have to decide which one to forfeit.

But I abhor any death that is inevitable in its form, as in Garrus would die no matter what in every single playthrough with no chance to change that.

BioWare is welcome to suckerpunch us as hard as humanly possible. They can make the game turn into a "safe Garrus (or any other character for that matter) at all costs" survival horror. They are welcome to it in fact as far as it goes for me. I want it to be hard. I want the Reaper War to suffer great casualties, both in material, men, hope and love. Everyone and everything can die, hard!

But I want a say in this. I want to be able to make egocentric decisions that make even the rescued character go all "What the hell, Hero?!" on me, if only that I could rescue them. I want sadistic choices, but the emphasis lies on "choices".

As long as it's done well I'm okay with the death of anybody.. it's not really that they CAN die that matters it's more How they die..at least to me.

ME3 is essentially the series wham episode characters don't NEED to be preserved for future titles at this stage. That's not to say they'll railroad any major character's deaths Aerith style, but I wouldn't be suprised if almost the entire cast CAN die if you make the wrong (or possibly even right) choices.

I would not be at all suprised if Shepard himself can appear on the list of casualties in the finale
