No comments or votes and no post here? This looks very interesting/well put together. I think it deserves the attention of the community so I thought I would be naughty and post it here.

I really enjoyed his "Dragonglade" module and am downloading this one as I type.

It wasn't up this time yesterday morning, fool. Perhaps your days are shorter than mine.

I have it on good authority that "the author has chosen not to allow comments" is a decision made when submitting the file for upload. ;)

I've been around longer than you so don't pull the "rookie" stuff on me. ;)

A once thriving dwarven community? I gotta check this one out.

I love what it sounds like he did with the rest system. Campfires and lit braziers, requiring wood... gameplay, resource management goodness.

Harumph!

If a work doesn't allow comment or voting I view it as an offsite backup of an unfinished work. I can't report any bugs, I can't ask for help, I can't tell you how much I liked it by comment or vote.

No comments or votes also makes it pretty hard to find once they are off the new mods board. It wont go on the top rated board, in fact I am not sure where it goes, you need to know the page is there or catch the mod in a search.

I check downloads on a bunch of mods once every week or so. Average in a week is 20 or so downloads (Kamal_'s keep the average at +20 most weeks). That's on known mods in the top 30 or so on the top rated board.

I guess it depends on why you put the mod together but it seems a shame to not get the max exposure for all the time you spend on these darned things.

I create modules primarily for myself, and since I obviously know about this one then I don't need to find it in a ratings list. I'd rather this module be a serendipitous discovery by a privileged few, like a shy country tavern wench, rather than a well-used strumpet with a line forming outside her red-lit city hovel.

Plus I didn't want anyone posting spoilers, or annoying me for help. You're tough, rugged adventuring types - if you can't survive on your own wits then you might as well cloister yourself away in Candlekeep and leave the adventuring to the professionals.

Oh - and watch out for thornslingers. Those wacky photosynthesisers will sting you old-school...

I'm not a fan of this sort of thing, but for low-level modules I can see the reasoning behind offering at least some magical loot. Anyway a few too many +1s is not the same as grossly overpowered +5/+1d6/+1d6 horribleness.

I shall be sure to visit your country tavern Image IPB.

Another up side to your strategy is that you won't get spammed.

I understood it the other way around. I think he wants more levels and more powerful gear.

I'm not saying that it isn't, just what I think he meant. :) But I might be wrong.

FYI - it's not a level 1 module. Encounters and NPCs scale to match the PC's level. NPCs always scale up to match, whereas there are limits to the scaling on some encounters (there's no such thing as a level 30 barracuda, for instance).

So a level 30 character will have no trouble with encounter-spawned creatures (the highest is level 20 for a couple of encounters) - but anger an NPC at your own risk.

I wanted nothing more than +1 weapons/armour so that the module wasn't about loot, however at epic levels the game's built-in treasure spawning scripts kick in so that high-level creatures might drop anything up to +5 items. C'est la vie.

I gave the bestiary manual a quick go through. It was very impressive. I didn't even know there were crab models out there.

You'd be surprised how crab-like a scaled stag beetle can look. In low-light conditions. If you squint a bit.

I know where you are coming from. Under similar conditions my ex looked like Anne Hathaway.

Ale helps as well :)

Coincidentaly, she swore it was not crabs ...

I am going to have quite the backlog of mods to get to once my rig is back in shape. Grats on the release.

I've just finished this module (completed the evil path and played a bit of the neutral). Some interesting puzzles there (I almost got stuck due to some misunderstanding when reading a quest), and I like the availability to different alignments and levels. My only drawback with it is that there's a lot of backtrack (so I'd suggest to play something with a speed increase if that's a problem for you, I played warlock with Flee the Scene).

But in general, it's a very well done module and I recommend it to anyone, I would give it a good rating if voting was allowed. I'll play the good and neutral paths now to see how they differ.
