People are terrified of something they don't understand, or which is trying to slaughter them, Grey Warden's are infected with the blight. If it became common knowledge that the Grey Warden's slurp up some Archdemon blood then people will instantly assume that they are just as dangerous as the darkspawn no matter what the Grey Warden's say in their defense. They'd be hunted down and killed by angry rabble.
Why is the reason that Grey Wardens are needed kept secret?
