Alright just reinstalled  ME1 on steam again and started up a new game (on XP). Anyways I keep showing waypoints on the screen at seemingly random times... even when I don't have any teammates with me (on the normandy for example). It's really weird.

The waypoints don't move around or anything it's just like the game thinks I ordered a teammate (or myself when I'm alone) somewhere even though I'm usually just holding down W or W+shift when it happens.

Any ideas?

First thing to try would be to verify your Steam cache integrity. After that, I would double check that you dont have any keylogging programs installed, like Comcast Constant Guard.
Check the key mappings on the config to see if you have mouse buttons 3/4 assigned to anything, as you may accidentally be clicking them.
