I can understand them trying to save time and ovelooking a few details here and there, but if they do it again, I'll have no choice but to do something drastic.

Like write annoying letters.

Hopefully this time Bioware get's there act together with Femshep. Ladyhawke felt like her own character, not some crappy port that femshep feels like to me.

I guess I'm the only femshep fan that likes the way she is.

I don't really care about the base animations, tbh...I just want the game with FemShep to have the same polish as with ManShep (proper armor pieces on Legion/in Liara's apartment, less clipping, higher resolution with armor textures, etc.)

ME2 definitely didn't cut it.

He reminds me of Pre-quel era George Lucas, you know a simpleton who just wants to see neat things happen and doesn't really care about anything else.

Mike Laidlaw however reminds me of Micheal Bay, a person who just takes what he likes and produces a totally self-indulgent pile of crap with no care for the context of any of it.

I couldn't get past Freedom's Progress on a FemShep runthrough, it just felt wrong (admittedly after 13 or so playthroughs as a ManShep).
FemShep was blatantly a different skin and voice doing exactly the same as the male counterpart. At least in DAII male and female Hawkes move differently.

I dunno Mike Laidlaw got the Dragon Age franchise so I think that's proof that somone who has no good ideas can still get paid for being an idea man.

Mike Laidlaw is fine, DA however is just not the series for him. Silverman however is plain and simple, a moron with no redeming qualities and a very annoying voice.

I can't stand how the guy can't even pronounce some basic elements of the series he's supposed to be promoting. Quarians = koreans. Illos = Elios.

I can agree with that but I'd hardly call Femshep horrible just needs a tad more polish it wasn't that bad in either game IMO just a few minor gripes.

Femshep was fine in ME because there was very little clipping, same care as maleshep and her own animations. ME2 threw that out the window.

Yeah, BW may claim gender neutrality, but what that really means is that the part was (mostly) written for broShep.  Part of it is the animations, but then both Shepards walk like a Gorilla. While ME1 was all about the discovery of a new universe as well as the main character in ME2 Shepard almost gets seems to get lost in the shuffle. Add to that that ME2 is more of a shooter and therefore either by accident or design, Shepard became more of a "badass." Finally, it may boil down to more than just femShep.  The dialogue in ME1 was very different than in ME2. There was more exploration in the dialogue, trying to get to the root of a problem.  In ME2 it's more "tell me what I need to know and let's go."  However, there is a split on this w/in the femShep community as many actually like the "gender neutrality." They like the walk, the open legs, the badassery and everything in between.  To each his (or her) own.  In the end, I think Crash has more optimism than I do for ME3.  I know Shepard is supposed to be more human in ME3, but I'll believe it when I see it. And I don't expect the animations to change either.  I just hope they don't get worse.

But not every scene in the game is broShep specific.  Every Shepard gets the "I want you Jacob" glare.  :P

I disagree. There are unique dialogue choices for each Shep and I think while the animations could be better IMO they are done well. I have no concerns about ME 3.

Both Sheps may have unique dialogue in ME2, but that dialogue has a very different feel from ME1. That was my point.  ME1 has a sense of discovery.  ME2 has a sense of urgency. Both are valid.  As for ME3, it will be more of the same. Patrick Weekes posted a great blog on his LJ about gender blindness.  There may be more squad members calling Shep “ma’am” and “sir” in ME3 due to player feedback, but we should expect the same gender neutrality in the next game. Unfortunately, Livejournal is down now or I would post a link.  However, BW is well aware that most players want a more human Shepard, but that has nothing to do w/ gender.  The walk/run animations are changing for ME3, I only hope they are for the better.

Actually, she didn't have her own animations in ME1.  Both Shepards shared the same rig.  It was the size difference that gave the illusion that she was slightly more feminine.  Part of it was the way they held themselves, legs together, head held up and walking w/ confidence.

Really? Another thread about the animations? Geez, Shepard (both genders) is injured and woken up before their body is back tot he way it was. It's a limp. you aren't swaying your hips when you friggen limp.

Oh andI see we're insulting silverman, the man responsible for the Femshep trailer we've been begging for, very classy to bite the hand that feeds.

Which I'm fine with ME2 needed that sense of  urgerncy so will Me3. I'm fine with how they have incorpertaed fem shep and what they are doing with her in ME3 it's just my opinion.

Shep does not limp in cutscenes after the start of the game. They reused the limping animation because they where lazy.

I'd also like to point out that ME2 is definitely meant to be defaulted by mShep -- and not just with big things like animations. Legion and Liara, for instance, have mShep armor pieces that they keep. That was really disappointing to me as a femshep fan.

Someone should tweet Casey and ask if they could possibly change that stuff.

I half agree.  The breast plate that Liara keeps is definitely masculine, but the part that legion uses apears to be a shoulder plate that both geners use.

I've never used male shepard i don't like his monotone voice and his prison break convict look and not to sound sexist but my nextdoor neighbors daugther is a marine and frankly she's more man than her brother.

I can't understand internet peoples' obsession over FemShep (even Sheploo to a lesser extent).  I mean it's one thing if you're a girl in real life, but if not, well... You know what, I think it's best that I not go there.

Just for the record though, did we have the gender animation issues with KotOR, etc?

As a woman, I will throw my two cents in, so here I go. I definitely don't think it would be appropriate for a woman who is in the military and spending time with a large number of men to be some valley girl, and that's not what I am asking for from Bioware. But she is a woman. She doesn't have any 'obstructions' to affect her gait and her hips would sway a bit regardless of muscle mass. I liked that lady Hawke's hips swayed (though it was a bit much at times). I have two older brothers and I, having spent let's say ten years with them and their friends, picked up some masculine tendencies. But I didn't lose everything that makes me a woman. I sit with my legs closed or crossed (usually), I sway my hips, and I tend to **** my hip when standing. These small changes would be much. As to build she doesn't have to look she had gender reassignment surgery. It depends on the person but I were to work out and try to get fit I wouldn't lose my hips and would look like walking tank. I would look toned. And one problem is the current femshep has a wide torso and normal arms. If her proportions were normal, she would look better and less wimpy. To sum up my point, in order for a woman to look strong and be strong she doesn't have to look like a body builder. I know military women and athletes who still are very feminine.

Sorry for wall of text. =P

No, you are not the only one.  I like her, too.  She is the perfect level of "butch" for me.  She fits me.  Even in the little black dress simply because she looks so uncomfortable and out of place.  She is more at home drinking beer, kickin' ass and taking down names. I can relate to that.
