Okay I think this thread is getting a little out of hand. Most of you are overreacting/exaggerating way too much here. This is another person's intepretation of the character. Its like all the fan art you see on deviantart. I don't understand why you guys are even complaining about it if you are not going to even think about purchasing it in the first place. If you don't like it that is fine but you don't need to go out of your way to trash it. And hey you guys are not even making an effort to make a piece of art so I don't think any of you have an honest say in the matter. I like to see most of you try your luck at making a statue of any particular character.

Have to say, I find the figurine a lot less problematic than BioWare's marketing.
You can legitimately argue that the piece itself is cohesive and in line with the quirks of a particular stylistic approach. I'm not really a fan, but I feel there are far more worrying things abound.
- Such as this marketing trend of asking us to have an opinion on the physical features of the female characters in their games.

There is nothing to interpret. It's all there, the look, the body, the character and what I've seen about Liara on DA was quite accurate which this statue is not. I don't care that this is supposed to be manga/anime-like, because there, too, are characters with "normal" proportions. If you want to make a statue of an existing character you should be as accurate as you can. As for why this bugs me, it's because BioWare is supporting this, "advertising" this - and that is something I don't understand.
Would the "Liara statue"  be more accurate I'd probably buy one, but as it turns out, it's not a Liara statue at all, it's just some random Asari wearing Liara's clothes.

I like how they improved the face, but it's still too schoolgirl-ish but I guess that's just anime's style or something. The colour is nice. Though, I dislike the E size boobs. 'Cuz those are definitely bigger than DD. E exists, right? O.o

Do not lecture me under some ridicilous pretense of being open minded.

What kind of hardcore logic is that? Someone made it and (supposedly) put an effort into it so I have to apreciate it, becasue I could never do anything like that myself? Are you listening to yourself? Hey, you're probably not a chef so if I serve you something bad you have no saying in it - becasue you don't have the expertise to comment? Give me a break. I'm not going out of my way so say something is good becasue it is not.

This product is nothing but a perverse deviation of what Liara means in the world of Mass Effect and everthing - from her face design to her pose and breast size point to it that thit statue depicts her as nothing but a sex object.

And here you are telling me I should be apreciative of it, becasue it' is after all - an art - and I couldn't  do anything better myself, when you clearly know nothing of art, becasue if you did you would also know that your average mainstream Japanese manga does better job at it.

Rage moar? I didn't say that you are wrong for disliking. I just used the post as an example of something going overboard. I never said you had to like it hell I never said I liked it. Everyone has their own interpretation of a said character and just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean that this person is wrong for making an effort to show their apprication for the said character. You don't like it that is fine and also everything you just said is your interpretation not the artist or mine so don't lecture me on how I should view the character or the artist. You can critique but your original post was not a postive or creative critique at all it was just mere insult . Something along LiquidGrape's post was an honest critique without having any drivel or throwing insults.
