As much as his actions offenred me, I was glad giving him a chance to redeem himself was an option. I really wanted to stick a fork in him but I don't turn on my friends in real life, so I just couldn't do it in the game.

No, he killed someone with heavy purple eyeshadow, he must be a hero.

I killed him only because they didn't give me the option to make him tranquil. WTF that is what you do to evil mages and they would not let me lol

I want to tell him to take a hike! But the first time through I didn't beacuse I am that way with my friends. I am quite forgiving. Had he been just sumdumgoy, I'd have laid him to waste for his duplicity. I think I'll tell him to take a hike.

Just wondering. People usually kill him or give him another chance. Who else takes the middle option? And if you side with the mages do you tell him to GTFO again at the Gallows?

I tried it once. Let's just say that I was underwhelmed with the result. I'm busting into the gallows with the templars, he's there, and I 1-shot him. It seemed rather pointless, so I just kill him from now on. Hell, on the last rivalry play I did he practically begged me to kill him.

*sigh*

Well, that's a different response. I imagine that sort of threat as a story option, no matter the character, is made complicated by the fact that practically nothing is known about the tranquility ritual itself. It's not as if a templar waves his hand and the mage is suddenly tranquil. I think if that were the case overzealous templars would be using it more often as a way to control mages. You might also have templars who are sent to get a newly found mage as a child and using it right there.

Regarding Anders specifically, for all we know, he might be immune because of Justice.

I kept him because I needed a healer. Sad, but true.

Yep, I'm afraid the same goes for me. Two playthrough so far (on my third now) and my both my previous Hawkes 'forgave' him out of pure necessity - letting him remain and clear up his own mess was an entirely pragmatic decision - basically we needed all the help we could get against the coming storm.

The problem is, that from a gameplay perspective, I'm not one of these uber-leet, superskilled players. I've read so many posts on here and other forums talking about how 'easy' DA:2 combat is, even on Nightmare skill.

I guess I have not-so-great reflexes, or poor tactical awareness.. or something like that ; I as I personally find the combat very challenging in Normal, and I sometimes have to set it to casual when I constantly find myself getting my ass whupped in certain fights.

In short, playing without a healer might be 'easy' for many of these super-skilled players, but not so easy for semi-skilled players such as myself. If you can breeze through the final battles without a healer, all power to you..  I wouldn't even want to try.
