Well after 3 attempts and 1+ hour spent, I need some tips from the knowledgable people on this forum. I can't bring Sloth down. I know that this is a common topic and found some good stuff when I searched here. But looking for a strategy with my party config.

I'm playing on Hard difficulty on a PC

My Party:
Me: DW Rouge
Alistair (tank)
Leliana (focus on Archery)
Wynne

Everyone is roughly level 10.

Actually I got to Sloth's last form all three times. Because I micro-manage like crazy, it takes me awhile but I get to his last form in pretty decent shape. I have Shield Wall with Alistair and he hangs in there pretty well up close up until the end, occupying the boss so Wynne and Leliana can fire away from a distance.

What kills me is that Blizzard. Even after a Party Heal by Wynne, I'm too busy healing to fight. What's the best thing to do? Shift to golem and throw a boulder? Do I have a chance with crushing prison or will he resist it most of the time? I know I got to knock him off balance but as I said, I'm just too worried about not dying. Any ideas are most appreciated. I'd hate to dial down the difficulty to get through this.

Thanks

In general, spells with long cast times can be interrupted. If it's giving you that much trouble, save a stun or knockdown for when he uses it. Spell won't go off. That, and keep Alastair on him - the best way to keep him from casting is to take away his mana, and Alastair's auto-attacks, at least, do just that.

try to get some distance, eventually disengage with your main and keep just Ali in the end... remember that you can morph in the spirit who have regeneration if needed

the golem form is also good if your party is going down as you can interrupt or try to stun him... if i remember right last form have not many hps so you should be ok to outlast him

Thanks for the replies! I tried again this morning and beat it my first try.... actually fairly easily. I really spaced everyone apart, with Wynne next to the far Lyrium vein, and Leliana on the other far end firing away. I also gave Alistair and my character equip some cold resistance items I forgot I had and use some items (forgot name) you can crush for more resistance. Then, as you guys mentioned, I kept an eye out for when he was going to cast Chain Lightning or Blizzard and pounced with Shield Bash/Pummel or me in golem mode with Bash/Hurl. Interrupted them all except for one Blizzard at the end but was able to kill him before too long.

Thanks again!
