The Attributes

STRENGTH:
  • Throwaway stat for Mages.
  • Rogues dabble on it to achieve the requisites of certain weapons or armor (generally not higher than 20), but otherwise replace it by Cunning to increase their damage if they take Lethality, which they probably should.
  • Warriors of all kinds love this stat as it allows them to use the strongest talents, armor and weapons, and hit much harder and accurately.
DEXTERITY:
  • Throwaway stat for most Mages, except for Arcane Warriors who are short on attack hit rate.
  • Rogues are highly reliant on this stat, as it increases the damage of daggers (post fix), increases their attack hit rate, and is a requisite for the many talents and weapons.
  • Warriors use this stat to increase their hit rate and as a prerequisite for many Dual-Wielding talents.
  • Tanks of every kind use this stat to increase their defense and dodge rate.
  • Archers of every kind use this stat to increase their damage (post fix) and attack hit rate, and as a prerequisite for Archery talents if they are Rogues/Warriors.
WILLPOWER:
  • Important stat for most Mages to increase mana pool (and support more sustainables), except in a much lower degree to Blood Mages, who only need enough support their sustainables.
  • Rogues and Warriors  dabble on it to increase their stamina pool, especially if they are using sustainables.
  • When using 2-Handers, Willpower is more important to increase damage output through abilities.

MAGIC:
  • Primordial attribute for Mages of all kinds: this stat increases their damage, fulfils the requisite of great weapons and spells, and for Arcane Warriors, also of their armor.
  • Tanks and other characters that need to increase the effect of healing potions dabble on it.
CUNNING:
  • Very important attribute to Rogues with the Lethality talent, as it contributes to their damage, increases their armor penetration, and increases the power of certain abilities. Also opens up skill trees and powers the persuasive side of Coercion.
  • Mages dabble on this attribute to fulfil the prerequisites of certain skills, most commonly Coercion.
  • Warriors dabble on this attribute  to fulfil the prerequisites of certain skills, most commonly Coercion, and also get a bonus to their armor penetration.
CONSTITUTION:
  • Provides Blood Mages with more health and thus a more ample resource pool. Replaces Willpower for them.
  • Very important for Tanks to increase health.
  • Every class in need of extra health dabbles on it.
Summary of attributes per class/specialization:

N.B.: Attributes written in CAPITAL LETTERS and underlined represent primary attributes; attributes in CAPITAL LETTERS represent secondary attributes; attributes in small print represent less useful attributes; attributes in italics represent useless or nigh useless attributes.
The attributes are ordered from most important to least important. Constitution is considered to be bordering the usefulness line - I know that being alive is a 100% boost in damage, but the stat itself can be mostly avoided.
Cunning is valued more than Constitution by physical damage dealing classes due to the armor penetration factor.

Arcane Warriors: MAGIC WILLPOWER / Dexterity / Constitution / Cunning / Strength
Arcane Warriors (Tanks): MAGIC WILLPOWER / Dexterity / Constitution / Cunning Strength
Blood Mages: MAGIC CONSTITUTION / Willpower / Cunning Dexterity / Strength
Other Mages: MAGIC / WILLPOWER / Constitution  / Cunning / Dexterity / Strength

Dual-Wield Warriors: STRENGTHDEXTERITY / Willpower / Cunning / Constitution / Magic
Two-Hander Warriors: STRENGTH DEXTERITY / Willpower / Cunning / Constitution / Magic
Tanks: STRENGTH / DEXTERITY / Constitution / Willpower / Magic / Cunning
Archers: DEXTERITY / Strength / Willpower / Cunning Constitution Magic

Lethality Rogues (Archers and otherwise): DEXTERITY / CUNNING / Strength / Willpower Constitution Magic

Personal assessment:
My personal belief is that Willpower is required by too many builds in an ancillary way. While it balances Mages from going full Magic (which they can still do), it puts a strain on other builds that are already taxed for attributes, such as Tanks and Rogues. There should be more methods of increasing stamina through other stats. Conversely, if a class valued Willpower above all, that would be a nice development - since as it is, only pure Mages have a real requirement of it.
I think it would also be beneficial if Mages required Cunning too, as it makes sense Mages should be smart - and it would increase the demand for that particular stat which finds home only in Lethality Rogues. Mages can go almost full overboard on Magic as it is, so adding Cunning as a development factor would help.
Tanks have a requirement for Magic that seems out of place, especially since they already require investments in most stats. Potion efficiency should be derived from Constitution, to increase its value and lighten the load on Tanks. Magic would thus become a throwaway stat for Warriors and Rogues -- but then, so is Dex/Strength for Mages.

Mages do not need cunning at all because coercion isn't needed.

Mages do not need willpower because you can pump magic stats and have tons of mana potions.

Mages only need magic and a few con (big maybe with con, I usually put in a few pts so I feel more comfortable about not getting killed before I can react)

By "need willpower" I mean either "need to put points in willpower" or "need to use equipment to produce the same effect."

Rogues don't need to put points in Strength to use the better weapons and armor - they can just use armor/jewellery with strength on it to help them achieve that.

The same applies for Mages: they NEED a mana pool to start up sustainables. If you can get it through items, that's okay too.

Coercion isn't needed, but it is what would drive you to use it. In any case, it is listed as unnecessary by every Mage later.

strength helps improve accuracy (attack)? i thought that was dex. The only reason i dont play a 2h warrior is because i dont feel like pumping two different stats... str and dex... only pumping str i cant ever hit ****.

Yeah putting more than a few points into willpower is pretty useless for mages, unless you are strictly a mage healer in which case all of your attribute points are soaked into willpower and none in magic since increases in magic have negligible effects on healing, and the spirit healer auras drain mana quickly.

But if you plan on doing any offense there's not enough mana you can possibly gain from pumping willpower that you can't make up by potions, and those attribute points are better spent on magic.

As a Spirit Healer, I packed everything in Willpower and only took Magic up to 30 that I need for my spells.

Doing great so far

Mages don't need anything but magic, and enough cunning for coercion (1+5 from fade). Blood mages are the exception but blood mages suck since there is no good reason to be using blood magic in the first place (you need blood magic improving equipment and points into con, decreasing your dps).

Rogues have lots of different viable builds, they can either be str/cun/dex oriented. All of these work very well and have various advantages over other builds.

Dual Wield Warriors need 36 in dex, rest in str.

Shield Warriors need 26 in dex, 42 for str. They can take it anywhere from there, but dex seem to work out better for tanking than con anyway.

Two-Handers just need str (but suck anyway).

Willpower is generally useless for everyone as the massive amounts of it required to actually help warrior hurts your important stats too much.

Constitution is pretty useless for everyone.

Just want to say I find Con useless on every character, even my tanks. I get more Dex with them.
