Not gonna happen. How can we visually understand she is a lieutenant now otherwise ? Her armor, her outfit will change.

I seem to remember that officers (like Lt. Alenko and Commander Shepard) wore the same casual outfits as every other human crew member on the SR1 did. I don't see why Ashley can't wear that just because she's now a lieutenant and a Spectre. Besides, I don't need a visual reminder, because I'm awake during the talky parts of the game.

Well, if you look at the other characters, they all seem be wearing a form of armor, so I believe that the outfit she is seen in, is also another armor for her.

Actually you're right. It's just speculated that you can put her in either. It is entirely possible she just wears that around the normandy and armor in combat.

A few months ago we had a picture of the extra outfits from the collectors edition. And she is holding a Vindicator.

I believe i remember reading that ashley's outfit in that was just a mockup. It seems likely to me that they didn't have her armor done yet, and that her CE armor will actually be a retexture of her "big" armor. But that's just a guess.

in the video game industry, visually demonstrate a change of state is something that seems important from an episode to another. It is natural that Ashley is not the same that you have seen on the first normandy. So visually, you will not have the same Ashley, the same outfit, and which will justify or support the changes or evolutions that you have found  in her personality. As Liara and the shadowbroker.

Serious question, but why even have armor? Since you have shields and barriers capable of withstanding rocket blasts, wearing armour is just something to slow you down.

What Ash is wearing here kind blurs the line between armor and clothes. I'm sure it provides some plating, being 2186 and all. Not sure if I support the miniskirt and stockings, but meh.

then again miranda didnt wear any armour (as pointed out rarther rudely by captin enyala while on mirandas loyalty mission)by the way i love firefly)
