Bioware should cancel Mass effect 3 on pc ASAP

DO EMPLOYEES OF BIOWARE OR EA KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE CONSOLES AND A GAMIING PC?!?!? Every single gamer I know that has ps3 and or 360 and a gaming pc NEVER buys games on their pc. But they do buy them on consoles. So every multiplatform game is free to them when it is released on pc. This happens all over the wolrd everywhere. Just look at the sales and piracy numbers on everyplatform. Pc sells less and get pirated way more. Developers should bother with pc only if their game would be heavily multiplayer focused.
Just see what the smarter developers did. Ubisoft and Rocksteady are delaying their singleplayer focused games. Rockstar never released RDR on pc. Bioware must still feel some loyalty to pc gamers but they should just abandon that piracy infested platform.

Nobody buys PC games via retail anymore because they can simply download them at 12:01am straight onto their computers. I haven't bought a PC game in retail in... Jesus, I have no idea when the last time I did.

As a loyal PC gamer that buys all of his RPG games for the PC, I would be outraged if this were ever to happen, seeing as all of my ME saves are on my computer. It would make more sense if Bioware started a NEW series of games for consoles.
This is probably what they will do. They won't abandon pc untill they start afresh.

Unless you can show evidence of some sort proving that they in fact "lost money" on the PC version, rather than simply not making as much as the console version, I doubt the whole idea of this topic.

Like I pointed out in my post. Sure they sell through digital but they don't sell there big time. The studied ratio is still less than half with digital and retail with these kinds of games. Besides im not saying that the 3 milliion pirates would have bought their game but some of them definately would have. The lost money comes from the development testing and support. amongs other things. Just checkout how much success other developers have with delaying the pc release or canceling it all together. This game will be reviewed in the 9's just like the second one. Similar reviewed games sell way better on consoles when those games get delayed or canceled on pc. Just checkout assassins creed.

Just look at the horrendous Mass effect 1 and 2 sales on pc. Sure people are gonna point out that "its only retail". But it is pretty freaking obvious they lost a lot of money by making the pc version. Besides if Mass effect 2 sells less than 200K on pc in retail in best case scenario it sold another 200K through Digital. This still does not change the fact that it got pirated over 3 million times. How many of those 3 million people would have bought the game on their console? Where they don't pirate in fear of losing warranty and online access?

However, why would Bioware go through the effort of giving us PC gamers a custom interface and more options( graphics, hotkeys, etc.) if we made them lose money?

Edit: If he's not a troll, then he's a MPAA/RIAA/DRM shill.
Just because all of OP's friends are pirates, it says more about his circle of friends, and lack of morals, than it does about Bioware's business practices.

Well, they must have had a reason to port ME1 over to PC in the first place. My guess is $.

I would guess it has everyithing to do with the fact that they are originally a pc developer so that is what they know how to do. Also the pc port is really fast and easy to make from the 360 version. Lastly the lost money from piracy and pc development testing and support is really difficult to calculate. Because all the versions are being made at the same time. So this comes down to the people who think like this. "well 3 platforms sell more games than 2 platform." That is just a wrong way to think about it.
Bioware fould out whit dragon age origins that when you focus on pc you really don't reap the benefits anymore. Just wait for the future releases. They definately should move their focus even further from pc development. They just can't abandon the pc all together with the titles like Mass effect since they would have all the crying fanboys at their doorsteps unfortunately 90% of those pirated the game.

I almost started typing a logical argument about Direct to Drive and steam sales, then I saw his join date.
Or you just saw how I knew taht some of you would refer to those numbers because those numbers are not reported. So you can tell me how millions of people downloaded the game from steam. If witcher 2 didn't sell even half its copies through steam and GOG. There is no way in hell that Mass effect 2 sold half of its copies digital.
Besides resent studies show that retail and digital are about 50/50 on pc and that takes in to the account all of the hunders/thousands of pc games that are just distributed dgitally. Games like terraria that top the steam sales charts.
