On pc you can do absolutely nothing. DRM is not helping that is for sure.

ME2 and ME1 in top 10 most sold PC games in January of 2010.
http://gamrconnect.v...d.php?id=100044

ME2 sales almost big as Star Trek MMO sales
http://www.shacknews...les-prove-space

Unfortunately I couldn't find the source with numbers, yet.

Oh and my info about ME1 frequent sales is out of date, though it was sold very often during the summer.

Also, it's a bit of a known fact that PS3 ME2 sold little.

Banned. Made another account. Banned again.

That would mean pausing the ponies vids (pirated of course, freetards like him wouldnt pay for anything) and leaving his mums basement. Not gonna happen, even if any woman would lower her standards enough to touch him. Prison shower sex is about the only way it would happen.

@OP:
(1) The quoted figures of sales don't include the Americas, Japan and worldwide digital sales.
(2) It is unclear how much loss in revenues is incurred by piracy, since a significant subset of those who download pirated versions would not buy the game if they couldn't pirate it. The number of illegally downloaded copies has limited significance.
(3) Cross-platform development costs money, but for a game the size of Mass Effect 2, it's actually a comparably small amount if it's between the PC and the xbox.
(4) Also, there are some experts that say that PC piracy is actually declining due to the developers giving away content to registered users and similar schemes to reward legitimate buyers. Platforms like Steam are also said to have revived the PC as a gaming platform. This information is from the same article you quoted.

So, your conclusion that Bioware should stop developing games for the PC is based on flawed data in the context of only one aspect of gaming development and distribution. It is invalid.

 A LOT

Question 7 : How many of those 3 millions were not able to start the game?

A LOT

Question 8 : How many of those 3 millions  purchased the game?

A LOT

Question 9 : How many of those 3 millions people would have purchased the game if not available with piracy?

Very few

Question 10 : How many of those 3 millions people had a different reason to pirates it ? I have seen such reason to play it's offline , losing CD key , No internet , multiple computer. , DRM  and other crap . Actually a lot of pirates actually have a legal copies of the game.

No kidding? Masseffect 2 sold little on ps3 :D
It was released way after the other 2 versions and it still managed to pull 600K on retail.

You basically posted nothing some sales lists? Those do nohtning for you if you don't have any numbers.

Console players don't pirate games. They'll have to use the PC to get it. And think of just how tiring it must be to go through all the process? Modding your console. Download the game. Write the game. Instal the game. It's so much easier to buy it.
I thought you people knew this.
That's why PC games are pirated. Because it's so much easier. You download, instal it and play.

Not sure if serious. But console piracy is almost nonexistent when compared to pc piracy. Go see any multiplatform sales numbers and then checkout how much the game is being torrented. You have to be blind not to see the difference. Pc sells less and gets pirated way more every single time.

So Bioware should give the middle finger to all the pc gamers on account of a few cheap sh*ts?
It's like you think those pirates were actually going to buy the game in the first place.

That's because Valve refuses to bring sales list from Steam and most people buy PC games on Steam.

Oh and with Digital version of the game, developers gain more money since they don't need to spend money on disks to copy games on them.

No, that's because Microsoft and Sony don't make big deal about it for the developers.

I mean, think about it.

Microsoft/Sony: Hey guys, there's we have a lot of piracy on our console and it's very easily done. Wanna make games on it?

lets stop releasing movies on DVD's after all - they get pirated all the time and they are just not selling much anymore, most people buy blueray. companies are losing so much money by selling DVD's

oh wait.

funny story - piracy always existed. and it will keep on existing. just like people will keep on hurting each other, committing all types of crimes etc. though I have this feeling that it actually increased ever since draconian DRM was implemented and companies stopped releasing playable demo's.

for about 600 bucks I can buy a decent computer that will not only play pretty much any game I want to, maybe not on highest setting but no worse then your average console, but I'll also be able to use it for internet, movie and tv watching, banking, work, hobbies, etc. building your own pc is even cheaper.

as long as my pc is more cost effective for me then getting a console? I'll keep playing on PC, thank you very much.

oh and btw, you know why EA is so dead set on origin? becasue direct downloads bring in the most profit. there's virtually no overhead, no cost to ship the game, no extra money to pay to the brick and mortar store.console games? console tend not to have enough space to accommodate all the games a player might want to store on their hard drive. so they have to ship hard copies. and lose profit on it. just something to think about.

P.S. about 90% of the games I own were bought through Steam.  another 5% was from GoG and only litteraly couple of games I have in hard copy.  not counting the games I bought ages ago before steam existed, of course :P

But in digital sales they have to pay Valve the sum or any other D2D service provider. It is funny how you think that Valve is some charity organization. They will absolutely taking their share and retail is not losing anything in the price margin espacially when they are promoting the games and usually even sell them with a higher price.

Why do you think EA is pushing their own D2D service?

wait what? do you realize that the reason steam is so popular is becasue they often sell games cheaper, right? no, I guess you do not. and sure companies pay a small percentage to digital distributor but its nowhere NEAR what they have to pay for selling hard copies through brick and mortar stores.
