Well those people have inferior taste and I will not lower myself to their level or settle for what they want.
I want a game with depth, not just fantasy fulfillment.
I game like ME2 could have explored the "burden of command" in a different way than a film or novel by forcing the character to grow close to these people... and then forcing them to choose one to die.
But taste is a subjective value. Any and all existing formulas for creation of any work inevitably attempts to adhere to the subjective tenants of the greatest number of people at any given time, which is why they change so often. Cultural tastes change with the times.
Depth can be achieved through tons of different ways. You seem to be arguing it is only captivated through a very specific events, which isn't even a probable conclusion, except to adhere to your own tastes.
You can claim your superiority in all knowledge all you'd like, but in the end, your opinion has the *exact* same value as any other persons. The only thing that has shaped it is your own experiences, and in no way, do your experiences make you superior to other people.
