I think it's time to request a lockdown. This has gotten way too hostile.

Hey, don't give up now! It's not like this thread hasn't already been through some tough times in its 160+ page lifetime. I'm sure by this time tomorrow it will be happily off-topic again.

You're never satisfied.  I think ME2 would have been a deeper experience for everyone if the mechanics of the SM weren't so transparent.

I was pretty satisifed with ME1. I'm satisfied with many things in ME2, but not all of it.

"Being a dick" -- is that what we call standing up to the people doing the bullying now?  Is that what it is to not let their behavior go uncommented upon?

Just because something may or may not be true, does not generally give one the right to express it in anger.

Basically, when you began applying the same strategy as they did, with insults...you lost the battle.

If you can't get through to somebody through civil discourse, then angry discourse isn't going to get through any better. Fact!

So disagreeing with someone equals bullying now? Well, that actually isn't too surprising, as it seems to be only requirement for someone being a "troll" nowadays as well.

That's uncanny, I have to admit.

You're not just disagreeing, Kaiser.  You actually cut me pretty deep back there with the "hurr durr you must be mentally ill and having your period OH YOU ARE well that explains a lot."  I was able to goof off and take it in stride, and you were probably being pretty light-heated about it, but yeah, that was bullying.

I don't think there's a word for what Saph's doing other than douchedom.

How does the option to get them all through alive preclude their deaths?

Gee, I don't know, how does someone being alive at the preclude them being dead?

Anyway I just explained this in my last post (which you probably didn't see).

If the death is optional then it feels unnatural because it is something I have to actually work and plan for.

When I beat ME2 the first time nobody died (except the ship crew). I had no idea how to do the suicide mission but I still pulled it off perfectly.

Well, first of all, stop listening to the marketing crap about it being a "suicide mission".

I didn't even let the crew die on my first playthrough.  I took the idea of being ready for it seriously, actually huried to save the Normandy crew, and picked the obvious choices for the specialist roles once on the base.

At any rate, we're back to where it seems that you're saying you want to have your cake and choke on it too, that you want to be able to play ME3 over and over, do as well as the game will allow you to do, make no mistakes, and still see squadies snuffed out every time by unavoidable events.

That doesn't change the fact that you mistakenly ad hom'ed poor Saphra.

Not really -- Ad hominem fallacy

You attacked his/her person because you were oh so certain Cheez couldn't have typed that herself, thus falsely accussing Saphra of making people say things they didn't.

You're missing the other half of the ad hominem fallacy.  Go learn.

You implied that made her argument invalid.

Where, in the post you're refering to, did I say anything about her argument or position?

Why else would you make said post like that?

Because at the time I thought it was true, and misquoting other people is about as low as you can get, and if it were up to me those little "fixed" and "edited" posts would be banning offenses.

What are you talking about? I've been nice for several pages now. My "final warning" after all. I can't say the same for several other people.

However that's pretty common.

Anyway, if you don't like the thread just leave.

Why yes. I want an enemy smart and capable enough to rob me of the choice to save everyone from time to time. Not an enemy that Shepard can walk all over.

If you were just simply disagreeing with people, that wouldn't make you a troll or a bully, and I'd call out anyone who said you were either one.

But that's so far from what you actually get up to.

One can disagree and still maintain a decent attitude about it. No one is expected to agree, about well anything, if you look at the world that's a damn fact.

But when people get the idea that disagreeing and insulting somebodies personal self because of their stance on an issue aren't the same thing, they at that point become at the very wrong side of an argument.

What he wants isn't an issue, you shouldn't view it as one if you can help it. That is what he likes.

How he goes about expressing that desire is an issue. And well, of course the inflexibility.

Then we still have Shepard effortlessly taking on the Reaper armada with he and his team emerging unscathed? The same Reapers who have killed countless trillions throughout history? No, I can't accept that.

You are still missing the point that these are many roads to creating that exact scenario, and each of those roads involves different things.

There is no one road to creating an atmosphere of defeat and war exhaustion.

Your preffered road, is that, preffered.

I merely jokingly summed up Paragons in general, you were the one that suddenly went "OH BUT I AM ALL THAT".

"Realist" sums him up pretty well.

I am just simply disagreeing with people. Not that I really give a damn about what people on BSN (and the internet) call me, as I've already been called many things I'm not on here.

Well, okay. Truth is this is not an actual "argument" in the strictest sense. As in some kind of debate? Lol. This isn't a debate. We aren't in a debate club. There haven't been any "logical", "analytical" arguments for this. And I doubt there could be for such a subjective viewpoint.

All we're talking about is what we feel is better. Based on the feelings a particular ending would evoke. One is not better than the other. I prefer mine, and others prefer theirs. It's up to BW to see if they can swing it both ways. And have it be good. (There were certain scenes in DA2 that were completely unnecessary; not story focused; and felt like cheap shot at my heart.)

Well that's simple. We just won't have any cheap shot scenes that feel out of place or like they are just there to tug at your heart.
