Believe it or not, she's my favorite character. It's refreshing to see a "fashion-character" that isn't annoying and has more to her personality than fashion. "A dog and a pony show" is a good example.

It seems she's got the smallest fanbase.

Then again, I don't exactly submerse myself in the brony culture, so I have no idea.

It's been growing lately I think. Her temporary season 2 personality switch helped. :?

Dude, chill the f*ck out.  My favorite character pretty much always dies, too.  You can understand me wanting a break, right?

Look.  Hatred is not cool, not even against a bunch of fantards.  I rip on stuff like Twilight for fun, but I don't hate the people that like it.  I think they have horrible taste, but I don't exactly cringe and hiss when a friend starts gushing about how wonderful and perfect Edward is.

People should be allowed to act like overly-passionate retards about the stuff they like.  They're not hurting anyone, even though they're creepy and annoying, and they're more than willing to make fun of themselves over how ridiculous they are.  I do it all the time.

You're the one that needs to grow up, here.

I don't hate the people, I find them annoying as f*ck. I do hate how much they obsess over one god damn character, though. I don't understand their constant worship of one character and the god forbid something happens to them it'll ruin the whole series attitude. All I'm saying is if Bioware wants to murder the most popular character in the game (which they won't) big f*cking deal. But no I just hear all these whiners go on about how it'll be the end of everything. That's my problem, that's what I hate. I'm speaking generally, I know why you'd want a break.

Well with the three of you that makes...four people I know of on BSN who think Rarity is best pony. There are 2-3 of us Twi fans, I believe.

I'm sorry that I came across as the more emotional and less mature one.  I was trying to be good-natured and relatively gentle.

You have a habit of reducing everything I say to the lowest common denominator, Kaiser :c

Well yeah, that's what I do: judge people based on their flaws, in this case your being wrong and emotional.

While I agree that some people overreact when they defend their favorite character  (Guilty of this aswell, so I'm not playing "higher than thou"), it's not fair to generalize and say that everyone acts like that.
And can you really blame someone for being passionate about something they like? And it sounds like you've been spending time reading the fan-threads since you supposedly know that this reaction pops up all the time. :P

I do generalize alot but that's because of the vibe I get off the majority of the people in the group I refer too. When I generalize I don't mean to include everyone I mean the majority, which may also be incorrect. So at least then I mean the majority of the people I've come across in that group.

Honestly I have never been in a fan thread once except the Liara one once just to see what they were talking about. Do those reactions come up alot in there? cause that's just the vibe I get from the general discussion.

There is a point where character love/hate/fanbase rivalry gets out of control.  I do agree that it's ridiculous to declare a series ruined forever if your favorite character dies.  However, on more than one occasion, I've caught myself and people I know losing interest in a series because so-and-so got axed or whatever.  For example, you know that webcomic, Guilded Age?  Really similar to Looking for Group.  It was funny, but deep when it needed to be, and I really enjoyed it.

Well, all of the sudden, things took a turn for the super-serious, all the good guys got captured, and Byron (the berserker/hero/whatever) died.  I think he got brought back to life or something or whatever, but I'd stopped reading it.  I just... lost interest.  And Byron wasn't even my favorite character.

It was just, meh, too gloomydark.

But seriously, your attitude is a little too acidic to do anyone any good.  You can make your points without mud-slinging.

Now we're at the core of things. But rather than the majority it's a rather vocal minority that puts everyone else in a bad light.  I like to think that everyone's intellectual, if heated when they defend their character. And sometimes what they say can make them sound like raving fanboys. What can I say, we're human.

Saving your entire squad fighting the Collectors is one thing, they're just pawns. Saving your entire squad in ME3 against the Reapers? Not likely I'm thinking. I'm leaning towards losing at least 1/3 of your squad in ME3 even in the best of circumstances. Being with Shepard in ME3 is going to be like fighting with the Iron Brigade during the U.S. Civil War.

A certain suspension of disbelief is already required for me considering that this one man/woman is saving the galaxy to begin with. Shepard isn't very different from the legendary hero in fantasy settings.

I'm not so concerned with "likely"... kinda subjective, for one thing.
