I'm not one to start threads - and, I admit, I probably wouldn't contribute much - but I think a "How would you do this scene?" thread would be excellent.

Take a scene from the game - detail where the scene begins and ends - and then let people re-write it.

I think it would be far more interesting than just saying: I like grim dark! or I like rainbows!

@Golden Owl: such is the way of the Tao. Sadly - I am not yet enlightened enough to pursue the Tao to its fullest.

Medhia, I will rise to that challenge.

Make it so.

Oh, no, no, Golden Owl. Sorry for the vagueness there. ^_^ I was referring to Saphra for the entirety of that post.

@EternalAmbiguity: Would it be safe to say you're suggesting: Offer me solutions, not problems?

I would agree - if you are.

Very nearly, I'm saying, show me problems AND their solutions. At least a step in the direction of a solution.

What, so now Saphra has to design a gameplay system that works instead of BioWare?

No, just give us an idea of how it would work. Such as I did quite a few pages back, by referring to Zevran: Some unknown determination in the background that determines whether a person lives or dies, based on your choices.

The LI goes first, and if there is none then the squaddie that's been on the most missions with you bites the bullet.

There.

See? That wasn't so bad, now was it? *pats Kaiser on the head*

That's kinda harsh...but I could see it. it would have to be on the final mission, though, so people with LIs could have their sex scene. Oooooooorrr maybe, not have it!

Oh, there'd be rage.

There's always rage when something good happens over here, just look at the multiplayer announcement.

Well what's the definition of "altruism" that you're going with? If with it you mean doing something for someone with no expectation of compensation, then sure.

Pfft, I know better than to expect anything in return.  What I'm saying that is everyone is a little bit selfish.

For example, these chocolate covered espresso beans?  Not sharing.  Ever.

Let's set aside a day on the forums where none of us are pricks.  It'd be a fun experiment.

The "Happy Ending" in stories has been around long since any of our grandparents even existed. Best not mess with things that will be here long after you are gone and all evidence of your existance is gone.

A lot of contemporary works had rather dark endings...

I don't want a dark ending for ME3. I've said that many times.

Got caught up on phone, left way behind I see...^_^

Anyway, with so many comments pertaining to, I figured I would squeeze a quick why I believe true altruism cannot be achieved: No matter where you give from, why you give, etc...The end result will always be a sense of either peace, feel good factor or a combination of both....these are pay offs...No matter the reason for giving (not looking for pay offs), the giver will always experience at least one of these two feelings and they are, no matter how you look at it or why you did something, essentially pay offs...You don't have to give to seek these pay offs, they are just an inevitable consequence of the action.

They get a lot of jobs exported out from the United States... they did well for themselves. Also within the borders of their own nation they get along just fine... granted that this statement has no bearing on their relations with Pakistan.

Concerning the Mahatma (Gandhi) - he perceived himself a massive failure at the end of his life.

The only failure I see - is that he felt he could help the swine of India (or, his fellow man, the fact that he happened to be dealing with people in India really has no bearing on swine - they're everywhere) be better than they were.

When he discovered that common people are pitiful wretches - he was hurt.

But that's what he gets - I suppose - for believing in people.
