So I'm getting ready to start another playthrough of ME2, and almost all of my saves have me saving everyone. I want this to not happen. Who should I let die in the next SM?

One caveat: Garrus live no matter what and I don't want to kill off any more than 4 people...

Thoughts?

need more info i reckon, as it totally depends on who your shep is, and not only big obvious stuff but little personality traits can influence major decisions too. for example one of my sheps is a complete chauvinist and that led him to not only try his best to straight out kill Jack but got her MIA'd in the suicide mish.

Do an "Irony" finish.
You work for the pro-human group Cerberus, and make sure all the aliens survive, but no humans.

^This.
Absolutely wonderful. Only humans I would want to save myself would be Kasumi and Zaeed.

My Renegade playthrough is the first where people are actually going to die. Legion is being sold, Grunt is being opened just before I launch the SM, so his loyalty isn't happening. I, personally, am going to kill Mordin, Tali, Jacob, and most likely Thane and possibly Samara as well. And the entire crew is gonna bite it. I'm saving the Firewalker missions for after the team gets abducted on purpose. God this playthrough will be impossible for me...

On a serious note though, everything on HOW to do what you want to do will be listed in the Suicide Mission guide pinned at the top of this forum.

I like to leave the corpses of the cerbus spys on the collector's base. Don't do jacob's LM and have him lead the SECOND fire team. Miranda's loyality can be broken if you side with Jack or just don't do her LM, but she needs to go with you on the final or she is hard to kill off without losing a few others.

I know there have been some other threads with various stratagies and conclusions like girls only survive or men only survive that involve getting the right people loyal (or not loyal) and holding the line among other things. But in half my runs everyone lives but Miri and Jacob. I have even gone so far as kill off the creww as well. I want to be sure and cut ties with Cerberus.

If you can't bring yourself to killing them, you don't have to recruit them :)

So how does this sound: Start in ME1 as a renegade, romance Ash, play a completely anti-alien playthrough(encourage Ash's xenophobia, hate on Garrus and Wrex or don't recruit them at all, kill the council). Is not recruiting Liara in ME1 an option?

Also, I know how to kill certain people in the SM in ME2, but ME1 comes first. Any more suggestions for my xenophobic playthrough?

Liara becomes the SB so she HAS to be recruited, AND survive ME1.

Actually, you have no choice about Liara, irrespective of what happens in ME2. You need her to brain-rape you in order to find out the location of the Mu Relay.

I just did a Renegade playthrough where I killed off everybody except for Garrus, Mordin, Jacob, Thane and Legion. I actually wanted Legion gone to, but when I did his loyalty mission it messed up my plan for the SM. Should've just handed him to Cerberus.
I wanted to save only the people I trusted and liked.
I was a bit uncertain about keeping Jacob too, but eventually I decided he could be useful in the future.

Have to say I felt pretty guilty sending people to their deaths, though. Just killing Samara to get Morinth made me feel a bit bad.
Miranda died in the final fight though...Very satisfying
