heyas!

   so most of you probably know, november is national novel writing month (nanowrimo)... or i guess it's international, now... anyway, the point of nanowrimo is to write 50,000 words in one month.  which, some of you may be planning on doing -- more power to ya!


   for those of us who can't do that...  i've been trying to prod a couple friends of mine into a post-a-week pact for november.  so instead of posting around 2,000 every day, it's more like post a new segement/section/chapter each week.  for no particular reason other than some motivation.

   you make your post, you get bragging rights.  you don't make your post, we all point fingers and laugh.  think of it as peer pressure put to good use. 


   so if anybody is interested, just hop on board!  i guess this is a good a place as any to track results.  please feel free to post links to your work, of course

Bannon and Zevran...you're not the same Bloodsong who has those really really nice vignettes on Youtube are you? We were squeeing over some of them in the Zevran thread a while back

For what it's worth, there's a weekly art contest there (which includes (and mostly comprises) Zevran-based fan fiction), although there is a 3 hour time limit on entries. Not everyone can get 2000+ words in 3 hours. XD But you could sure post them as non-entries and share the Zev love...

Well....I've been planning on trying to add more than one chapter to one of my fanfics....so I think I'll join as motivation to get 'er done. It's just going to be a couple of chapters of Tabris as a child.

I may try to keep up with the program, but no pledge. >.< I haven't been producing much creative writing recently, and I'd hate to commit to something but not meet it.

Hmmm... I guess I could join this. I'll pledge to complete a new chapter/section/whatever once a week for each week of November. I'll think about this a bit more and see where I am at in my stories in the beginning of November before pledging which I will focus on. Sounds like fun!

   sorry i haven't been around.  my work computer is down again.  for the second time this month.   but it shouldn't stop me from being able to post in november, because i have workarounds...

Oh... it's that time already, or almost rather... hrm... I'll have to figure it out and post "the plan". Ohho, prewriting and saving is a form of cheating isn't it? LOL! So is it a post challenge or a write challenge or a mix of them or a free-for-all?

EDIT - although Im thinking in the essence of the point of the excercise - doing a complete new series just for this.

I have my Kinky Cousland in the wings waiting and there is also my Randy Surana who has recently been let loose from the tower ...*thinks*

Okay I have subscribed to all the FanFiction authors and I almost live on Bloodsong's Forum LOL so Im set.

One post per week incoming. From scratch no store ups but they will be unbetaed I imagine as so far only Symphony is betaed anyway - too much of the other stuff - which is often just random brain farts.

ummm... no guidelines, restrictions, really. i don't see a need? i mean, following the general forum guidelines and if it's going to be really risque, to post a little note before the link?



as for pre-writing and saving up.... or if the excercise is just to post a lot or to write more consistently.... hey, it's all good. it's all better than sitting around NOT writing and posting, ainnit? this is really more of a self-challenge and self-motivation. with an audience. so whatever works for you, and whatever rules and goals you want to set for yourself.

that said, i have been writing ahead on B&Z since i started. it helps a lot, because i can go through the posts 2 or 3 times before i post them; pick up the typos and awkward sentences. and just because i have 3 or 4 chapters/sections 'in the can' doesn't mean i'm going to sit on my butt and do nothing this month. i have to keep ahead, don't i?
so... um... NO! cheating? not me! i only ever use 'creative problem solving.' ;X
