Ok. I'm completely new to Dragon Age Origins. I just bought the Ultimate Edition for PC a day or so ago from Direct2Drive.com. I've downloaded the game and installed and everything seems to have installed normally. However when I open up the game laucher and click "Play" I get the following game laucher error message:

"There is a problem with the setup of your game. Please reinstall your game."

Reinstalling doesn't seem to work as I have do so twice now and am still getting the same error message. Yes I have activated the game using the activation key given to me by D2D and I have registered the game with this site. I can't figure out what I'm missing.

I'm running Windows 7 SP1 and all drivers and bios are up to date. Firewall exceptions have been added to Windows Firewall.

Can anyone help?

At the top of the forum sit a great many pinned threads. They are stuck up there, and yes, there are way, way too many, in need of consolidation. But they were put there for you.

Yes, you are supposed to read them before writing (at least the lead message in each one). One in particular says "Read First". If you don't, or won't, read and follow those directions, you will get no answers, because no data in equals no data out, and you have offered no useful data.
