Hi there,
I have ME2 for PS3. It turns out that my connection was really ****ty on the days where I bought it and I started the game thinking I could pick my choices for ME1. Unfortunately I ended up the ****ty default choices.
My question is: if you do a new game plus can you "re-write" this? Let's say that on playthrough 1 Udina is my chancellor, can I start a new game plus after I beat this one and make Anderson the chancellor?
Hope someone can help me with this!
New Game+ (re-write history?)

The choice of councillor is the one thing that is not determined by ME1. In the very beginning of ME2, Miranda asks you questions to "test your memory", one of which is who was elected councillor. The choice you choose will determine who the councillor is for ME2. The rest is determines by ME1.

Unless Gibbed Save editor can be used for PS3 saves, like for PC and XBOX360, you're out of luck.

Yeah, there is even a site or two hosting importable ME1 saves, but only for PC or XBox as far as I know. PS3 users seem to get the short end here for some reason.

^Well to be fair, that site wasn't updated for almost a year.
And I don't know can you convert PC and XBOX saves to be for PS3, like you can with each other.
And I don't know did anyone tried to make Gibbed Save editor capable for PS3 as well( XBOX is).

there's something wrong with your ME1, maybe you need to patch it. the Xbox and PC versions create a hidden save at the end of the game, i'm not sure about the PS3 versions.

^ME2 imports last autosave, but last one is right before you choose human Councilor.
That's why choice doesn't get flagged and hence the reason for that choice in ME2 with Miranda.
Unless you use Gibbed Save editor and flag that choice, so question won't happen in NG+ playthrough.

no, it's supposed to import a hidden save created when the credits run last save, there's some sort of patch issue here.
if i was getting the choice in the shuttle after importing a character i'd be pissed as hell for missing the extra XP and renegade/paragon points gained in that final fight. i'd suggest talking to EA about it if that's the case as that's a massive deal.

The "hidden autosave" happens after you beat Saren, but before you make your choice for Councillor, hence why you get asked the question in the shuttle in ME2.
The last loadable and playable autosave occurs just outside the Presidium.

i don't get asked any question and neither do a couple of other people, that's the point.
someone else in another thread mentioned how the Xbox version creates a save during the credits, the only explanation i can think of for my PC ver. is something similar is happening, but then i don't know how to go through the save files and find out what's different with my ver.
all i know for sure is my finished games are actually saved after the final fight and i know that because of the times logged being different to the last available save.
as for last loadable and playable save then that's as everyone has said.

The only thing I can think of, is if you take the "We're done her" option and refuse to answer any of the questions, in which case ti would probably fill it in with the default choice of Udina.
NG+, as well as flagging the choice using Gibbeds stops that question from being asked altogether. If youve got a straight import, and that question isnt being asked, then thats definately strange.

i haven't imported in a while but i might go through the saves and see what i can see, though i don't really know what i'm looking for. in you ME2 does it give you the run down of your import choices at the beginning? is the human rep one of them?

When you import from ME1 and are selecting the save it gives only a broad run down of the major stuff, whether you were Paragon or Renegade, saved the Council or not, etc.. It does not tell you anything about the myriad minor choices which are also affected.

yeah, there are only 3 major choices. but as i've said before showing you those choices then making you rechoose is wrong, there's something wrong with your versions.

Actually this didn't work, I think it's a glitch. I said I chose Anderson and she confirms it. Then I go to the citadel and Udina is in charge...wtf?Adugan wrote...

Although I think you can rewrite the story, not gonna be easy if I plan to do a ng+ in insanity

About the specific question, I've read (though not tried) that when you answer Jacob about your choice of Chancellor, whatever you answer becomes the case for ME2, regardless of what you chose in ME1.
More generally, you can use Gibbed's to set the Plot choices you would like. Gibbed's is an unfinished tool, but it works well for exactly that use, at the beginning of the game.
You can find the file, a guide on using it, and the starting values for an ME1 imported character at the ME2 Quick Reference Guide I just posted.

Its not true, if you dont import, it always makes it udina, you dont get to choose. Or at least I didnt.
