Seems like they're doing a damn good job of marketing right now. Everyone's talking about the co-op and it's on the cover of 2 major magazines. A lot of times any publicity is good publicity

Nothing bad about ME3's trailer to me.

I am saddened that it is full of guitar and action edits instead of the mesmerizing synth music and space scenes for ME1 that focused very little on combat and instead on characters and locations. It is putting tons of time on combat now and shooting, and much less time on showing off the universe and people you meet.

Plus, they still haven't used the Fog horn sunrise at the end of their trailers which they used to do for the very first trailers in ME1 and ME2.

I don't think the trailers you are talking about were the first ones. As far as combat is concerned both Mass Effects had trailers focused on combat so nothing new there.

The fog horn thing is from the teaser/first trailers released for both the first and second games, but for ME3 we have that Shepard being bad*** by stepping from shadows with an omni blade and angry face.

And Mass Effect one was absolutely dominated by videos showcasing the universe of Mass Effect, not tons of combat/swuad gameplay which is almost entirely what we have for ME3 so far. By now, we should have had a nice video with some synth music and calmer character/scenery trailer.

I have not lost hope, but they have me worried as each game goes more and more towards a shooter and action music showcase.

You're comparing a TV spot to a Launch Trailer to a Gameplay Reveal trailer, it'll be alright.

I don't think there's been anything wrong with the marketing we've seen. The ME3 Teaser Trailer was pretty damn good.

True the other trailers have kind of been so-so thus far but that's to be expected this far from release. The good stuff will come later. Though I will admit it'd be nice if they actually showed Shepard doing something more then blowing stuff up and stabbing people with the Omni-Blade. I guess I'm one of those weirdos that finds the dialogue stuff to generally be more interesting. I'm pretty sure seeing Shepard Renegade Interrupt and break some hapless Cerberus guy's neck is far more entertaining then seeing Shepard shoot at some giant robots.

Also I want to see Galactic Exploration and or maybe one of these Side Missions. (Wouldn't that be fairly non-spoilerish for the Spoiler Babies?) Seeing the effects of upgraded powers, weapons, and armor would be good to. You know show us what the heck happens when we spend 2 extra points or whatever in Biotic Throw. You know that stuff.

The only thing that stood out to me in any of the gameplay trailers was seeing that frozen targets now actually shatter to a certain degree. He he degree...

You aren't a weirdo for liking dialogue scenes more. That is how many people got on board with ME1 (it got criticised for rough combaat, but was touted as a must buy for the story, dialogue, and universe to learn). ME3 seems to be all about combat and action so far. Very little dialogue (i'm sure this will be in the game, but the marketing shows that it isnt something they need us caring about anymore) and sleek sci fi that we met in ME1 (all about gritty guitar riffs and Shepard being bad*** instead of diplomatic).

BioWare pulled a bait and switch. Love the mysterious blue lens flared sleek universe with tons of dialogue interest, open exploration, and characters? Well watch ME3 videos and see combat instead. And no more scifi music. That would be too much like the ME1 atmosphere you fell in love with.

I have hope for ME3 being a good middle ground between ME1 and ME2, but boy does the marketing tell me this is shooter territory. Where's that feeling we got seeing the calm and mystical blue aliens for the first time? Now it is just dark and ruined places and cold hearted people in every location.
