I noticed in ME2 Miranda would go into battle with high heels, I found this laughable. Not only would a real female soldier not go into battle with high heels, but if Miranda were real I don't think she would either.

I was pleased to see the new costume for Miranda in the ME2 DLC, it was less revealing and the shoes looked better, while still being a bit heeley.

So I ask the web community, do you want to see more realism in ME3? No high heels while female soldiers run into battle, armour that doesn't look like it could deflect a cream bun, or are you happy to accept the sexualisation of female characters?

Discuss.

I think it's too late to ask for no high heels.

I don't know. Miranda's whole image was about being a sexy skank. It kinda fit and I actually didn't notice.

maybe high heels in space are better.. (????)

I certainly would prefer less high heels for ME3. Having said that, I still approved of the ME2 squadmates' outfits simply for being diverse and unique to each one. It was one of my largest pet peeves in ME1.

As far as I know Bioware are already aware of this.

I myself wrote a large essay on the subject in the ME2 forums when the Devs were trying to explain away the lore breaking inconsistancies in the gameplay with the "iconic looks".

Fighting in high heels wouldnt be possible for any length of time.

They ought to slow Miranda down and get her shot and killed, or she ought to have broken her ankle many many times running around the way she does.

There is a little thing called the fourth wall, and Miranda, Jack, Samara, and Thane all break it in game every single time you bring them to battle just by being there in those ridiculous outfits.

BW announced that in ME3 companions would have "realistic combat friendly" looks for when they are off the shop in areas expecting combat; and casual outfits that they would wear in situations were they didnt expect battle or for on the Normandy.
So expect no more high heels in combat.

srsly? Miranda deserves high heels that make her butt and legs look more defined.

I'd like to have a look at this essay.

Please. these topics are such small potatoes. Shouldn't we be worrying about gameplay, story or anything not concerning their virtual aesthetics?

Yes there should only be topics that you have an interest in on these boards.

Instead we should have topics that only interest you?

Hasn't every meaningfull topic been done to death by now? I'd rather have a topic like this than another one about multiplayer or s/s romances.

Nope there should be topics for everybody and when people find a topic they have no interest in they should just move to another topic of choice.. neat ain't it?

I dislike high heels because when I was in my late teens I rolled my ankle really bad while wearing them, took weeks to heal... haven't worn high heels ever since.

Anytime I see Miranda or Samara running in combat with their high heels I think to myself: "They're braver.. or dumber... than I am."

High heals discriminate against dwarven, gnomish and halfling clerics.

Couple that with the fact that in many of the factory levels they are running over grates in those heals... that's just a broken ankel waiting to happen :D

Agree, nobody should wear high heals in battles, i wouldn't mind seeing Miranda, Ash, Samara and etc.. wearing them on Normandy though. Either way i hope also that every squadmate will wear armor this time not some latex suits.

Wait, Samara wore armour?

But yes, heels in combat; more likely to snap/sprain your damn ankle with all that leaping and runnng about. :/ They can't even use the 'lol advances in science' excuse like they do with the leather and spandex armour.

Too many times this thread has been talked about but anyway if she was real she'd probably be deemed mad.

I'm honestly stuffed with the so called "realism" discussions. No, I don't give a damn about realism. I'm not playing a simulator of future infantry battle, I'm playing a goddamn casual shooter videogame here and I absolutely don't mind high heels in those.

I dunno, Vasir's "heels" just seemed like more like a little elevation than actual heels. Plus she actually wore armour and looked like a badass doing so.

I WANT HER OUTFIT FOR MY FEMSHEP.
