High heels ( or any unpractical clothes for that matter ) make a person seem less compitent in my eyes.
I've seen a lot of ''real'' women in high heels, but that is just something not for me.
A woman wearing unpractical clothes also almost automaticaly goes under the light virtue cattegory, because why endure unpractical clothes if you don't want to get something from it?

If you would understand what you just wrote, I would have to punch you in your face (provided I had a chance).
Lady of light virtue means a prostitute. If you want to call every woman who wear high heels prostitutes, I might start taking this personally.

No english isn't my first language, and I didn't mean a prostitute. But I did mean that those women seem more easy.

Um, well, many women could fight in high heels in real life. I've actually done it before. Plus, you can kick out and stab people with the heel. So they are also weapons. I mean, you can trip and break your neck or twist your ankle in them, but it is possible to fight in them. Oh and since the game does take place in the future, you never know. Maybe they have special high heels that they can't fall in.

I suggest folks look up a lady called Ginger Rogers on YouTube and see some of the dancing she had to do in high heels. Keep in mind, Miranda's high heels are pretty thick - they aren't stilettos.

What do you guys have to say about this?

Thinks this..

Owww... bad memories.. oww.. had something similar happen to me as a teen (except I wasn't on a runway lol)... messed up my ankle badly for weeks... refused to wear high heels ever since (going on some 10 years now actually, I can't even remember what it's like to wear them).

But watching that sure brought back memories of the pain <shudder>.

Oh and that first video?.... madness!

MASS EFFECT FIELDS!

WE CAN DO EVERYTHING WITH MASS EFFECT FIELDS!

Yes, part of me greatly respects Sam and Miri for being able to fight in heels and not die.  However, I think they miiight be better off wearing flats.

And really, people can wear whatever they want so long as it suits their character and isn't presented poorly.

While I do understand the concern about realism (I don't share it, but see the point).
I still think the sexual part of this discussion is overflowing with males trying to pretend to care about the topic of oversexualization of females in media, and is very childish.

Miranda is also genetically engineered to wear high heels at all times. Also, her cleavage has sub-dermal Silaris armor. As does most of her face. The same material her outfit is made out of.

Don't think anybody is disputing that it's possible to make some extraordinary dance moves on a plain dance floor in high heels - but have you ever seen Ginger Rogers dance around on a metal grate in heels or in the middle of a jungle, Sure you can wear heels on ilus but they would be a **** on Tuchanka or some UNC world.

Frankly, good sir, while you may be right about the content of some or much of this discussion, the implication that no man cares about anything other than his dick deserves a punch in the face.

I know women in real life, who I care about as people, who hate high heels and don't wear them unless they are really dressing up, and some who even then find some way to not wear heels.  I've listened to conversations about how painful and debilitating they are... and after those high heel races you linked, those women, if they manage not to fall down, have bloodied, injured feet.

But hey, if it gives *you* a boner, more power to you.

Also, guys, Miri wears heels because she's got hella good style. Flats and spandex, or latex, just don't go together. So really, she's fighting in style and doing damn good. Smart woman.

They're idiots if they run away scared at the very mention of butts and boobies.  They're also idiots if they think a woman that dresses sexy is automatically a tramp.

But I've actually met a lot of guys who think that all the sexing up is a little annoying, and I can guarantee that, as a woman, it kind of pisses me off, too.  Mass Effect 2 wasn't that bad, but I think it can be a little better.  Like, maybe if Miranda's outfit were a little less skintight and the camera wasn't stuck to her ass or whatever.

AND GIVE JACOB REAL PANTS.  Those tights aren't doing him any favors.

I don't care one bit about the "oversexualization" - hell for my sake they could make Miranda's butt even bigger and Jacobs shoulders wide as the golden gate bridge ..and have them both run around in tinfoil miniskirts on the Normandy - just as long as they have armor on when we go on missions.

High heels can be elegant and classy depending on the heel's size and what outfit a woman pairs them with. A sensible heel with a carefully chosen pencil skirt and top gives a very different impression than six inch platform heels, daisy dukes, and a half-shirt. Not finding high heels personally appealing is one thing, but claiming they are *all* markers of sexual promiscuity is straight up sexist ignorance.

While I agree that certain ensembles would be impractical in the combat situations presented in Mass Effect 2, I vehemently disagree with the presumption women only "endure" "impractical clothes" to "get something out of it." Contrary to popular opinion, it is not always about pleasing onlookers. Sometimes, a woman just bloody well wears what she feels good wearing. Falling short of meeting some ridiculous puritanical standard of propriety does not mean she is a loose living harlot. <_<

Idiocracy more like it....appears more concerned about her appearance than survival and ability...my Sheps just can't take her seriously....As for flats with skin tight suits, Kasumi's managed it without looking out of place.

Yes, but Kasumi is Kasumi, she can pull anything off. Also, notice Kasumi doesn't wear spandex. I never said skin tight, I said spandex and latex. Anything can be skin tight.

I would be pretty scared if my nan came out in a leotard, high heals and wielding guns sprouting 'embrace eternity!'. Samara is pretty intimidating, just before you die you see sagging breasts.

Shepard should seriously get an omni-HAMMERFIST.

Like, the omni-blade, but bigger. Think Conan - in space!

Tis' true....^_^....though take a closer look at her outfit, it is in fact fitted tightly to form, I think just the hood and extra buckles, straps, colors, etc...give the illusion of not being quite what it actually is.
