I thought it was rather more badass than wearing flat shoes. Why aren't women allowed to look good while they fight, do they have to wear cardigans and trousers just to satisfy sociopolitical agenda?
While I tend to support the foundations of minority movements it bothers me when sociopolitical agenda determines literary passage; particularly so in sci-fi/fantasy epics, which are supposed to facilitate escapism from this kind of stuff.

Nah, I'm not asking for cardigans and trousers. All I'm asking for are sealed hardsuits with ablative ceramic plating and kinetic barrier generators. You know, like they had in ME1.

If that's the case then why don't we see the guys being badass; running around in highheels? Why can't they look good while they fight too?
I mean just look at this picture of Superman: all ready to fight crime

Doesn't he just look so empowered and classy?
And if you don't like it well I guess you're just a prude who doesn't want anyone to look good!
It's this or Cardigans people! Cardigans and trousers!

It's either that, or identical black armour that makes everyone indistinguishable. There can be no middle ground.

No, the clear solution is that we have a generic group of characters that are neither male or female, they don't have any facial features, or their features are heavily obscured, and they are completely unrelatable to by anyoneBoceephus wrote...

On uniforms: It's actually quite possible for everyone to wear the same damn thing but still be very distinguishable characters. A common example is ye olde high-school anime what-have-you, where posture, body type, hair, accessories, and how the uniform itself it worn make each character recognizeable. Check it out:

Not the best examples, but you get the idea. It's a really fun exercise in character design.

As a female gamer I am about damn tired of every female character going into battle with NO ARMOR it is beyond impractical, and I find it degrading... if you are going to try to justify it in anay way remove the armor from the male characters so I can have my fan service to thank you... I can tolerate one, but only if the other also happens... it should be equal.
