I have dumb problem. I'm just about to go to the collector base, when I remembered I had to upgrade my ship. This is my fifth time playing the game, and I want some people unloyal to get a different ending. The problem is, that two of my loyal squadmates, Kasumi and Thane, will die if I don't get the thanix and shield upgrade, and because Garrus and Tali is unloyal and only wants to talk about their mission, I can't get the upgrades I need! I really don't want to get Garrus and Tali loyal as well. Is there any way to fix this?

Do their missions?

I've never played it your way myself, but isn't it possible to say that you aren't ready to go to their mission yet and then use other conversation options? There is also a way to keep people who would otherwise die on the suicide mission alive by putting them in your team to deal with Occulus.

well, since you obviously can't pass the weapon check (according to the sticky) your best hope is for either an early save where you ask Garrus and Tali for their upgrade before they ask about their trouble.

Of course, you could also edit the save.

Alternatively, if you just cared more about Kasumi, take her with you on the Occulus fight, party members get immunnity to death when it comes to shield check.

How do can I edit the save? Is that safe?

In the worst-case scenario, I could always do Garrus loyal mission to ensure Thane being alive. Is there any way to kill a loyal Garrus?

Send Garrus through the vents or take him and Miranda on the long walk.

check the walkthrough for the timing but basically you'll only have a set amount of 'moves' before your crew ask for help and you'll have to the updates before then if you don't want to do their missions at all. or just do the missions and fail them, then they won't be loyal, though it's too late for you now, next time you hit that map you're off.

You can also do Tali's loyalty mission "wrong" and have her remain unloyal.

Garrus can die if he's loyal if you have him in your party during the biotic bubble part and your biotic is not loyal. There are probably other ways too...I take it you are wanting to kill him off?

Well, there's always Gibbed's save editor.
