So I am playing ME2 and I die (mind you I have saved since I started playing). After I reload the latest save it takes me ALL the way back to where I was when I first started playing ignoring any saves since then. Any idea on how to fix this?

Do the saves show up in the load screen??
Have you moved your documents folder, or is everything stock?
more details including hardware and op system?

Everything is in the "Bioware" folder (not sure what you mean by stock).
I have an Alienware M17x R2, 8 gb RAM, dual AMD 4870s, Windows 7 64-bit.

People often move the my documents folder and map/direct the computer to use the new location, but for some reason it can cause issues with ME. The most common issue is people make the my documents folder the name of a root drive, instead of leaving it as for example C:....user/my documents.
Do the saves show up in the load screen of the game, or are they not registering at all, even though you save the game?? Do the saves show up in your my documents/bioware/saves folder??

The new saves aren't showing up at all even though I saved it. As far as if they show up in the bioware/saves folder I'll let you know (it's late here...).

So it appears that the save files aren't even registering in the correct folder (it says my last saves were from August 22). How do I fix this?

Have you done a system restore since that date? Have you started, or stopped, running the game as admin, or created another user account?

I don't think so. It's weird since it says it saves on the game. I guess I'll have to poke around, but I haven't created another user account or anything... I have a Bioware folder in My Documents and all I did was hide it.

Did you try un-hiding that folder?

Yup! That fixed everything! I hate having a random folder I actually don't put stuff in out in the open like that though. Would I be able to make a new folder equivalent on the level of my documents, my pictures, etc. called my games and just dump all the game folders such as StarCraft II, Bioware, EA, etc. in there without any reprecussions?

Possibly. Check the Tech FAQ on how to create a junction, or bridge (dependant on your OS version) that might be required to get teh system to recognise the new destination.
Alternatively, you might be able to browse through the registry and update the information in there.

I'll have to poke around. I'm pretty tech savy, but I've never had to do a "junction" or "bridge" before...
