Actually, I didn't notice it at first! My boyfriend and I are huge Mass Effect fanboys so when he was revealed I got all excited and showed my boyfriend the leaked picture (of his DLC armor). I was all: "LOOK! LOOK! A NEW CHARACTER FOR ME 3!" He just turned to me and said: "OH MY GOD! They stole your face!" D:

The funniest part is hearing people talk about his caveman features. I guess I've grown to appreciate my gorilla face enough to find it funny!

while foxhound would probably destroy manshep in an armwrestling match, i find manshep too big for me.  you'd think he'd have more of a cross country build with all the jogging he does across the galaxy.

I like femshep just fine, but she is nothing like me. Making her look like me would just be weird. I mean, they would not make a plus size Shep. that would be ridiculousness. I do think she could have a bit more muscle though. especially in her arms. where my dwarfy warden was a short and curvy chick, I may be bigger in real life, but at least she had some curves. lol.

Wow now that I've looked at a pic of Vega (all I remembered was his hair), the similarity between you and him is downright uncanny, one could almost say they used your face for the scan and just made a few tweaks.

This is becoming a very bizarre day.

I've actually always thought Shep was a little too thin. He's in great shape but I expected him to be a little more strong looking since he's a soldier. I feel like his body is too "supermodel."

This is actually an issue I've always had with the Mass Effect character builder: you can't change body proportions. It's especially bad with manShep because if you make his neck wider it just ends up looking like he swallowed a fridge. The body and neck proportions just don't go. D:

in ME1 i imagined my vanguard as sean connery, james bond jack of all trades, and being slimmer was possible (though i still suffered a small case of refrigerator neck). taking electronics as a bonus power made for pretty versatile vanguard.

in me2, i guess the whole chargifying of the vanguard lent itself to a more NFL middle linebacker build.

I've been told by some friends that my main Shepard looks like me.. though I personally don't think. I certainly wasn't trying to recreate my own appearance and I wasn't looking in a mirror when I designed her.. I just sort of designed a face that I felt looked friendly for a paragon character.

Still, some people insist I do look kinda like her, I still disagree.

I have never been able to make a FemShep that looks like me. All the mouth settings are too wide, and all the eyes are rather too small and the wrong shape. And none of the eyebrows are right. The hairstyles are all wrong too.

Afterwards I stopped projecting myself into games and treated the characters I can create as I would a character in a story I'm writing, never again making any attempt to replicate my Adonis like features.

My Shep and I don't look alike, we don't share the same racial traits.    I never make any customable PCs like me even in other games. They're in totally different worlds from me.

I just realized, Thursday in fact. That my cannon Shep looks just like a friend of mine I hadn't seen in almost a year. It was weird, we were playing Dark Heresy (The Warhammer 40K Table Top RPG) and I was sitting next to him, and I was like, no way. Dude looks like him, didn't plan it, just happened.
