Heh, really? I was somehow under the notion (not sure how / why) that most gamers tend to play a character the same gender as themselves.... what you're suggesting then is that the majority of people are not heterosexual?

I jest of course, but still that notion you proposed has personally never crossed my mind. And while some people are suggesting my own Shep resembles me (I still disagree... Mrraaw! :pinched: I'm original! I'm creative! I'm not vain! No no no nooo, damnit! :P) ........ what I was going for with my own Shepard was simply a face that looked friendly & compassionate to reflect the nature of my Paragon Shep.... when I make renegade Sheps, I tried to make her look mean, angry, tough & rugged (and then 20 mins into the game I want her to fall off a cliff for being such a mean witch, lol).

And last time I checked I'm straight and never felt any "desirable" feelings towards my own Shep  (and most especially not now that people insist she looks like me .... that would be, uh..... :? )

Aw, I simply wish to confound the people here on the BSN and make them unsure, though I may have been a bit blunt w/ that line. People only try to make their Sheps look good. I'm sure there are people who make their Sheps look likje their better havles. Still, how many Sheps out there within the Commander Shepard population are ugly? There's only one ugly Shepard and that's Ugly Shepard.

*Is confounded*

Everyone ITT that posted a pic of their Shep also posted a pic of themselves. They all look very close to me aside from the lack of hairstyles, but that's the fault of character creaton tool.

I'm envious of PC users w/ their ability to do custom mods on their Sheps. At least for the console versions of the game they could've allowed all the different hairstyles that NPCs have in the game.

I tried to make a Shep that looked like me once, it came out looking like ginger soup. Give me some paper a ruler, t-square and 12 different kinds of mechanical pencils or AutoCAD and I can draw you a 50 story building, but when it comes to drawing or creating people and I am hopeless. Glad to see some of you are very creative when it comes to those kind of things.

And why wouldn't we, these games are designed to fulfill certain fantasies and roles we cannot otherwise do in real life.  Personally............I'd rip my FemShep's clothes off quick if I ever encountered her irl.

I can vouch for what Ravensword says. I did create my canon Shepard to be attractive to me.

I don't have any "modeled" shepards, and I know this kind of off topic, I do have a Shepard named after each of my five siblings, though they look nothing like them. I know, I'm weird, but I was making my first custom Shepard, and I couldn't think of a good name for him, so I just named him after one of my brothers. Eventually decided to make a Shepard named after each of them just for the fun of it, but never named after myself. I have to admit, it was worth it just to see the reactions of the ones that saw their "shepard's". If I recall correctly, the general consensus was that the males were, below average, to say the least, while they were more approving of the femsheps.

Sorry again for going off-topic, it just seemed like an interesting conversation and I wanted to jump In. If this was just utterly inane and irrelevant, which I'm sure it was, feel free to flame me.

I cant seem to make any custom Shepard look like me, the closest Shepard that looks like me is the default male Shepard, but to look exactly like me he would need to be younger (I'm 21, Vanderloo is in his 40's I think) and with brown eyes. I wish we could edit the default just so I could give him brown eyes.

@risks vas kasai That must have been awkward, what with joker being voiced by Seth green, and your shep looking like him.

Yep, yep , yep. I  created my custom FemSep for the same reasons as you guys and girls. She is more or less my ideal type...Image IPB if there is such a thing.

I've been told by some friends that my main Shepard looks like me.. though I personally don't think. I certainly wasn't trying to recreate my own appearance and I wasn't looking in a mirror when I designed her.. I just sort of designed a face that I felt looked friendly for a paragon character.

Still, some people insist I do look kinda like her, I still disagree. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

Here's a comparison I guess:

Evelyn Shepard
Image IPB

and me

Image IPB

When I desgin any of my sheps I don't really go into it with a plan.. I just mess around with sliders bit by bit until I find something that feels right... though I've at time spent hours making faces.

Any chance we could get this girl as the new face of femshep? And i mean Bioware should get a scan of the girls face like they do for maleshep, not just use her Sheps face. Cuteshep ftw [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]

I think mine looks pretty much dead up like me, except around the eyes. the facial hair is a bit off too but not by much. I hope that at some point, now with the kinect technology in place, that somehow in the future they might be able to you it to scan your profile so that it can render your features in game. Would be great.
But I understand that you will be able to tweek your features in ME3 so that you can "enhance" what you originally created. So thats a good thing.

This is as close as I could get my canon FemShep to look like me. Hair is hard with my new haircut which is like young Hinata from Naruto. Hope to get some cool hairstyles in ME3.

Thank you! You are pretty much Vega which is AWESOME!

I look like such a goth. I called her Ramona due to my love of the anything 50's and such. I wish Shepard could have tattoo's then she would be so much closer to looking like me.

Some pretty cool looking sheps, also nice to put a face to the name.

Thanks. the only things modded are the hair and the beard. Everything else is just a work of many hours and many failed monster-shepards that have been deleted

@FeralEwok, minus the beard I think you got really close. :wizard:

@ZombieGeisha You did a great job too I think. I definitely see the resemblance (except your shep seems more frowny than you ). And also glad to see another woman participate, I feel a lot less weird about having done so myself now :)
