And leave the world to the fools and idiots? I have a personal mission to increase the average IQ of the human race. There aren't enough competent people having kids these days, IMO. I intend to have a lot, like 20 or something (ok, slight exageration there).jlb524 wrote...

Same here. lol
But earth needs people like SandTrout.
This is why I only do lesbian romances.
*hopes babies can be avoided with Liara*
But a little asari baby with Shepard as the "father" would be the perfect centerpiece for her shrine!!!

Just a minor annoyance.
Now for romance turn offs.
Stupidity-I really truly prefer smart LI's.
No sense of humor-I prefer deadpan snarkers.
Creepy levels of devotion.

Babies take away from the romance, that's my opinion.

Sure, to each his own. I just consider romance in and of itself a goal, not what it was designed for, as silly as that may sound.

Compared to some of the things I've seen on BSN (a few of them from you) That's positively passe.D.Kain wrote...

Also Jack's over all personality/appearance...Never liked her. Jacob too. Dunno why, they just bug me.
The only other things that really bugs me is not seeing Tali's face and that metal plate Garrus has glued to his head. I really wanted to see her face and I really liked how he looked to begin with.
Just a few minor things.

Funny. That never gave me any problems, and I'm an atheist (and so is my Shepard). Maybe that's because my fiancee is christian as well and one of my ex-GF was jew. So I'm used to find a way between both positions.FoxShadowblade wrote...
When Ashley starts talking about religion, total turn off.
Don't know about Jacob - since I don't have a female Shepard yet. Jack is, as I said before, to much burdened by her past of sex, crime, violence and rape. Knowing all this destroys everything for me to start a relationship with her. Of course, she might looking for a man that's not abusing her, okay. But it feels kinda wrong Shepard is that man - since he's her "superior".Also Jack's over all personality/appearance...Never liked her. Jacob too. Dunno why, they just bug me.

Garrus - same as with Jacob. Don't have a female Shep yet.
Tali: Yeah, I'd like to see her face too. It should be a special moment however, not just a random scene. After all, we never saw a Quarian without facemask or environment suit, why should Tali drop both and show her body if it's not meaningful in any way?
Means for me: either Tali is showing her face late in game when being Shepard's LI - or when she's dying in ME3. I'd like to go for first option, however, and want to get her through the game alive.

-Submissiveness. I can't stand partners who let you walk all over them. Backbone, please. Applies to all Sheps.
-Less than a head taller than my Shep. For years I tried to tell myself to stop being shallow about height, but I can't help my preferences so I just accept it now. I love looking up at my significant other, I love being able to wear heels without being taller than him, and I love that he's just tall enough that I can tuck my head under his chin when I hug him in flat shoes. The preference applies to all Sheps, though I will still have a Shep for Kaidain, Thane, and Jacob.
-Too thin. I love bulk. Not overweight, not steroid-supported muscle, but just some average bulk with an appropriately-sized skeleton that amounts to being heavier and wider than my Shep. Jack is an exception to this.
-Young and inexperienced. I prefer someone who has been around long enough to know what they're doing, knows what they want, and has the confidence to go for it. If my Shep wants to show someone the ways of the world, she'll become a teacher or have a kid.
-Weak. I like strong. My Shep likes strong.
-Obsessive/clingy. I say 'no' to that annoying, creepy, and potentially dangerous trait.
-Intolerant. So not into racists, homophobes, the uber religious/anti-religious, etc. Please feel free to spew whatever you wish in an appropriate place, I understand as I love getting on a soapbox myself, but in my home or on my property is not the place. This doesn't count for my pro-human Shep.
-No sense of humor. Boooooring. Doesn't count for pro-human Shep, though.
-Conservative. Also boring. I want a fun, cheap Star Wars wedding with a potluck, not some super stuffy formal affair at a chichi hotel. And someone who's willing to wear the glowing mouse ears at Disneyland regardless of age. And to play games with me. Garrus is an exception. I don't think this one really counts for my pro-human Shep either.
-Unintelligent. Need to be able to have a conversation.
-Irresponsible. They need to consider their actions beforehand. Garrus is an exception.
I can't believe I made a list this long this early in the morning. Ah well, tl;dr: Whatever is the opposite of my guy aside from his horrible eating habits.

About that "he has to be taller than I am"-stuff - same for guys I guess. I love my fiancee is smaller than me, and I'm not exactly what you'd call "tall".
Anyhow, most is about character: I have a thing for "tomboyish girls with a soft core to explore". That's a major turn on for me. Turn off is someone who's so shallow you know him/her after just some minutes of talk. Sorry ... that is not my stuff.
And last but not least the perfect turn on is - for me - a girl that needs some closeness but understands also I'm a loner and need some time alone.
(And yes, such a girl is difficult to find - somehow, of all ME-characters, Ashley fits best, shortly followed by Miranda.)

I like Garrus' personality... but in a fictional fantasy setting only.. not the real world... in the real world I think a man like Garrus would be disastrous to be with.
But what do I know, I've only ever picked losers, cheaters and outright creepy / scary bastards (grew up with father & uncle and had no females to look up to growing up, my mother died when I was little.. so I never really had a woman in my life to teach me anything about finding the right man or knowing how to avoid the "bad" ones, lol).
In a fictional setting like Mass Effect though, I try to pick romance options based on how I think the author wrote the character... I'll basically ask myself "Hm, did this author make this character to be a caring, loyal and devoted companion?" I'll then pick the love interest that I think will treat my character right.
Of course it seems I can't even get THAT right in video games since that no good spineless bastard Kaidan turned his back on my Shepard when she needed him most and asked him to help her.
Bastard.
If Garrus betrays my Sheps trust in ME3 I'm going to... I'm gonna... I'm .. gonna.... oh hell I don't know probably just scream and then try to get him killed somehow. :innocent:

Just want to know what are the major turn offs for you when you consider a potential LI?
For me it would be - character being in a relationship, and/or mentioning their past relationships.
What are yours?
I hope you didn't romance Tali then.
LOL

I also prefer LIs who feel like my equal, someone I can respect. The only ones close to it are Miranda and Liara (ME2), imo.

I'd offer something insightful if I could, but truth is I no longer even know what I find desirable in a love interest (probably has something to do with the fact I've never had a relationship that didn't end in unmitigated disaster... I seem to pick awful men.. even the ones that I think are the "nice guys" turn out to be bastards).

gotcha.
Personally Turn off's that Jack and Miranda Fight - OMG that fight killed both characters for as LI for me just killed it... dead. It was as stupid, juvenille, what we call alpha female fight between the two human female LI. You know what my Shepard did went down and played catch with his Engineer. Honestly there are Five woman that I would actually consider. Ashley, Aria, Tali, Kasumi, and Samara .
Ashley is grounding force, firey and independant, Aria is just damn strong, confident, and powerful that is seeeeeexxxyyy. Tali - loyal, deticated stuck by Shepard even when she had her own doubts. Kasumi - Humor, Samara - a combination of all three and wisdom of age kinda of the same thing with Aria nothing like a woman that knows who she is. Spent 400 years hunting her own child that she birthed from her womb and still for the most part is still holding it together - so for her stablity.
Turns off - Miranda's blind loyality, low self worth and opinion of herself.
Jack - Too emotionaly unstable and just too angry and no amount of the Shepard "Magic Sex" is going fix her issues. Given want happened to her its understandable but she is nowhere near emotionall Stable enough to begin a serious relationship with.
