Zevran would be the closest to it in the DA franchise. I would have died laughing if Alistair told my Warden "you make love better than Duncan!"
I guess that would be a turn off? lol
Zevran is like a curtesan, I don't think there are ME characters even similar to him. Maybe Jack, just a little.

I suppose Jacob is boring because he doesn't need Shepard to hold his hand and help him find his self esteem, nor does he spend the cut scenes gushing over her. He even has the audacity to play hard to get even though Hale, for some reason, acted out her "talk for a bit" line like she was in heat.
Not really. He's just boring because he has A LOT LESS to talk about with Shepard, even as a friend. In ME 2 I could talk to every squad member after every mission and learn a little something about their character, attitudes, backgrounds, etc. Jacob talked to me maybe twice the entire mission and then just repeteadly complained that I was "already" trying to talk to him again. He's boring because he's so paper thin and two-dimensional that he could slip under your door like your Monday mail.
Unfortunately, Jacob suffers from "hidden awesomeness syndrome". He has some GREAT lines buried in the FemShep romance (he actually asks her how SHE'S doing), they're some of the best lines in any romance. Sadly, though, you have to get through all the eyerollingly bad "I'm more interested in just talking for a bit" minx behavior from FemShep to get to that point. Jacob is also unique in that he doesn't need Shepard to "fix" him, which is a nice change. But for MaleShep, Jacob might as well be a piece of furniture, because all of his awesomeness is available only to FemShep, and only if she romances him, and only if the player can get past the opening stages of Flirtation Fail on FemShep's part.

He was a dedicated soldier through and through, the only one of his type on your team. Then he pulls the Shaft act as soon as femshep gets near him. To this day I can't believe the writers thought that dialog was a good idea.

This. It's still BAD character exposition. I have never once romanced a single character in Mass Effect (not counting the Ashley ninjamance), but I've gotten to know all them very deeply. Jacob was like an impassable wall of "Already?" I shouldn't have to romance a character to get to know him or her more. Kaidan is borderline here too, but he DOES actually give you information about his past so he's at least passable. I just hope that Vega isn't another typical human male that might as well just spout gibberish every time you try to have a conversation with him.

Thane feminine? Really? Interesting.
I like dependable women too.
Well i think it was the lips that made me think that. That and I kinda want my assassins to be james bond like, not an emo mess. Or like the spy from team fortress 2; Romantic, cultured, smooth, and deadly.

Oh my. Poor Thane got full blast of it. And Sky, but that's ancient story. Really, I can't even think of woman who will enjoy being compared with dead wife of her boyfriend, so I haven't got characters who have such LI at main playthrough. Maybe once I'll roleplay masochist...Chun Hei wrote...
I hate the Bioware staple of the male LI who says my female character reminds him of his dead lover or relative. Grrr.
Other thing - and really strange thing, in addition to that, - most of my characters (at least main characters) tend to pick the least fitting LI. For example, Max Shepard, calm and domestic guy, totally fell for Jack's inner softness and ready to accept her just like she is and be with her no matter if she will change or not. Alyson Shepard, Vanguard who prefers to solve problems with Carnage, get along with Kaidan because they both prefer to fight for some romantic ideals and help people instead of get job done no matter the cost. Take a wild guess who my Spirit Healer romances in DA2. I guess it's "we found something in common and have plenty other points to have discussion about" and the fact that romance between exact copies is too smooth.
And third thing that I personally don't like - naivity. Social awkwardness, babbling, virginity - all the things which are supposed to make me go "Awww cute!" and really just leave unpleasant impression that named person at least emotionally isn't as mature as I would like, and that PC takes advantage on character.

Bigotry. One of the reasons that while I do not by any means dislike Ashley I couldn't see my Shep in a relationship with her.
Tell me, did you post that because you don't know the definition of "bigotry", or because you weren't paying attention when Ashley was talking?
"I can't tell the difference between the aliens and the animals" - I wish Garrus or Tali would have said something to her when she said that (Wrex probably wouldn't bring himself to give much of a crap)

I wish it too, because in this case Ashley could explain that she means that keeper near which - and only near which - this line was supposed to be played. The most devastating bug for character ever.Demonique wrote...

Ah yeas another wonderful case of Bioware writing going HORRIDLY off the wall WTF... that had to be dumbest comparison/analogue i have ever heard. They would have better just having her go with the- "I just don't if we should be trust top of the line Alliance Tech with people who are not part the Allaince." For Security and all that jazz Instead of that moronic line that made almost no sense and you just wanted Shepard to say... "WTF are you talking about"

Girl/Boy Next Door:
"I always loved you."

nobody wants when that when you boild down the character types and romances down to that dialogue- which is what Bioware does... sadly.

And it's annoying.
Often waiting for the glorious male player character to swoop in and be their hero or change their entire worldview.
Isabela is the one exception from recent memory.

Ya know I kinda agree with one that and you right Isabela was amazingly refreshing when it comes to female LI which mostly one of the many why I like her.
There seems to be a serious disconnect to what romance is about - its not always - man saving the woman..Sometimes the woman saves the man from himself or thet save each other or the there is not saving at all and its just two people whoe relationship grows from a mutal understanding and enjoying the others company. Not all romances are one party fixing some flaw the other party has.

Male love interests tend to be a little more equal, more worldy, less in their own bubble of delusions - or at least the relationships don't feel quite as one sided.

Holy ****! You are right! I was just sitting for 30 minnutes now trying to remember an equal female love interest, and didn't come up with any... Went all the way through NWN, NWN2, Kotor, Kotor2, Jade Empire, DA, DA2, ME, ME2 then went away from Bioware and thought Witcher then Fable and Fable 3, then went away from RPG and tried to think of any game that involved romance and thought of Prince of persia whole 4 series, Spider man 3 and web of shadows, then Might and Magic dark Messiah even Starcraft 2...
Is there even a game out there that has romance with a female that feels completely equal?
The best idea that I came up with was if Billie Adams from Deus ex invisible wars was a love interest at some point, atleast she felt completely equal as a character.

Hold up - the Remake of Prince of Persia I would throw Elika in there she was rather upset that the Prince Re- release darkness to save her life. In combat they both had strengths that played off each other . There Elena from Uncharted as well.

I though of that, but Elika feels all: help me I can't do this alone, and Prince feels more calm. Also falling half uncontious all the time doesn't help, as well as being ''saved'' a couple of times including the end. Just my opinion though, doesn't feel equal. Elika felt like - I do the job, and she does her best to help. Never played Uncharted, I am a PC gamer.
