Is that so? Because I'm still in search for lawful evil, ruthless bastard without dark troubled past which will consider relationships as "business with benefits". Maybe I've missed someone at KotORs or NWN, though, but for now male LI without ton of angst is extremely rare case.Collider wrote...
I never really felt that any recent female love interest was strictly "equal" to the male player character besides Isabela. Morrigan is runner-up, but still is still awfully naive.
Male love interests tend to be a little more equal, more worldy, less in their own bubble of delusions - or at least the relationships don't feel quite as one sided.

Bishop's relationship was truncated for some reason (along with Neeshka's). Zevran is more chaotic neutral than anything else, and almost qualifies as a male ditz.
Oh. I didn't romance Bishop, I just assumed he WAS a romance option.. Oh well, he just fitted what was asked for perfectly. =)
Now that I think of it Qara would make a exelent equal female romance option! Why wasn't she a romance? Bioware trolling? XD

You should. Bishop is probably one of my single favourite romance options in history and i would definitely recommend you try it out. If nothing else, with all his flaws, he respects the Player Character and believes her completely capable of defending herself.I didn't romance Bishop
Neverwinter Nights 2 wasn't a Bioware game, it was created by Obsidian. Why wasn't she a romance? Bioware trolling?
I also believe Qara wasn't an option because it was originally intended that during the game is be hinted that she was possibly a bigger threat than the King of Shadows was, the whole thing got scrapped, but maybe Qara was originally going to branch off into a big bad in future expansions. I don't know.

Didn't Sandtrout just say that Bishop isn't a romance option??

As for Qara, I think it was something to do with BioWare avoiding Unfortunate Implications of allowing a romantic relationship with an underaged girl. I think Qara was somewhere around 15-16 years old. Same applies to Mission Veo from KotOR.

When was Qara's age mentioned?? Hm I though I explored her character well.. My pc was 18 at that time anyway, lol.

Bishop's romance is screwy because while you can persue a relationship with him, you cannot consumate it like you can the two 'cannon' options. Without getting into spoilers, romancing Bishop doesn't significantly change his end-game actions.D.Kain wrote...

It depends what you would consider a romance. Do you need a fade to black scene after a touching discussion of ultimate doom for it to be considered a romance?Casavir and Elanee were the only two characters that were romancable in NWN2.
Bishop ends up caring for the Player Character, while he doesn't do it in the conventional way and doesn't show it as clearly as some might, it's quite clear through-out the game that he does give something of a damn.

I though of that, but Elika feels all: help me I can't do this alone, and Prince feels more calm. Also falling half uncontious all the time doesn't help, as well as being ''saved'' a couple of times including the end. Just my opinion though, doesn't feel equal. Elika felt like - I do the job, and she does her best to help. Never played Uncharted, I am a PC gamer.
Completely disagree. Elika is one of the best female characters ever in gaming. The Prince is literally USELESS without her.

Stupid, nasty, immature and crazy are also huge turnoffs.
Miranda is moderately warped, and frequently nasty to other characters. Hetero male here, but were I otherwise Jacob would be a turnoff due to his unpleasantness to other characters as well (particularly Tali and Thane when they are first recruited).
I tend to make characters and project an aspect of my own personality into the character, so the LIs that my characters are attracted to are generally the ones I would be attracted to IRL.
Smart, funny, not crazy, not warped, and secure are big pluses for me. That's why I found Kasumi attractive (and Tali too up to the point where the Romance starts - after that she's almost desperate which is a bit creepy).

I don't think wasn't mentioned explicitly, but because she was attending the academy when she joins up with you, that implied to me that she was roughly high-school aged. And since you can make your character whatever age, and the default for some races being rather 'up there', it leaves it open to those unfortunate implications I mentioned ealier.D.Kain wrote...

Yes I know she helped a lot, but it was her that needed the help in the first place. I do agree that she seems like a good character, it's just about how it was portrayed, a couple of different scenes would make it better imo. I am all for strong female characters.

The biggest turn off for me is when a potential LI has one or more MAJOR character flaws. I'm not talking about "picks their teeth in public." I'm talking about emotional or perspective issues that are incurable before endgame, and badly warp their personality. If they can be "cured" in the last 10 minutes of the game and have almost no unique dialogue after that... so very not interested.

Just read on Forgotten realms that she was in her late teens, so probably 17-19 so she was finishing the academy or wasn't attending for some time when she was met. Imo the whole game was MEANT to be played as a human of about 18, because you have a dad, and it's your last year at the harvest cup, and it doesn't make sense having friends like Bevil and Ammie when you are 100+ years old, so... I mean the concept of many race and age choices is nice, but was integrated into the story very poorly. The canon would defenetely make a very young human, the same age as Bevil and Ammie imo. Qara romance would rock. lol

But she doesn't though. She's the one with the magic. She can fly, catch the Prince if he falls, use special powers, cleanse the land, etc. She could have probably done it by herself. IIRC she didn't actually need help, it was the other way around. She rescued HIM from getting hurt.

Ok maybe you are right. That is good then. Maybe her falling on the ground a lot overwhelmed by use of magic is what get's me + the carry in arms scenes.
