I agree. Having one last emotional meeting with him would be the best way to go.

No damn it. He should be dead. I remember when Bioware told us they made these losers so we wouldn't lose the real characters; Ashley, Kaida, Liara. Now everyone is diving through hoops to make sure they get to rub shoulders with their insignificant party members. Let me give you guys a free tip.

Thane is as insignificant a character as it gets. Grunt? Yes, that category.

Sorry, when you have reptile cancer you don't live past a reaper base infiltration.

I don't know if you realized this or not but pretty much everyone is over the whole 'Adding new squad mates into ME 2 is bad' stage, you are probably in the very very very small percentage of people with that opinion so stop thinking your opinion is superior.

Who's argument are you reading? LOL

I'm not against a new squad, I'm just wondering when did me2 squademate get priority over me1 squad mates. Before the game release we were promised me1 castmates would be in the third series. Now, I'm hearing crap about Thane and his stupid cancer. He should be dead.

A visit to Thane's tomb with Kolyath (sorry too lazy to google for the correct spelling) wouldn't be bad... I really want to see the Hanar homeworld.

Having a last conversation with Thane before he dies ? It's kinda fanservice but it's worst than some of what has been shown in ME2 so it's not too bad unless they keep him alive for 90% of the game.

Finding a cure for him would be stupid, almost as much as the guys threatening themselfs on this thread.

perfectly reasonable compromise. I support.

Don't care much. I would've cared if I said something "I kill you an ****** over you".

On topic, I'm more worried about how Thane can fight than the cure (we don't if they find already a cure, only that they're working on, and this was already known in ME2). The lung transplant note on the SB's ship sounds to me like something to make him be good enough to be cured in ME3.

How are ME2 squad getting priority.?
Tali squadmate all 3 games
Garrus squadmate all 3 games
Liara squadmate 1 & 3 & big dlc Me2
Virmire survivor squadmate 1 & 3

It is perfectly reasonable for people to want their favourite ME2 characters to have a decent representationin the concluding part of the trilogy.

They're getting priority because Bioware keeps bending and bending to get them in 3 somehow. Didn't they make the 2 cast just so they could be disposed of easily? Now we have BIG RELEASE: THANE NOT DEAD crap. Who cares, I thought we disposed of them as soon as 2 ended.

Well, I meant one last meeting on his deathbed, or the like.

But cool rant.

I know what you said and guess what?

I want the motherf*cker dead. I just want ONE aspect of Mass Effect that bioware sticks too. I'm so tiiiiiiiiiired of this trend.

furry, yaoi fanbase: We want to gay!
Bioware: Despite it inflitrating our storyline, perverting our characters, you got it!

prepubescent halo nerds; We want multiplayer
Bioware: OKAY! Despite this being a singplayer game for 2 games now. let's waste our money on a feature that will be mediocre at best.

Thane losers: I WANT HIM TO LIVES
Bioware: Well.. Seeing as he has a DEADLY NONCURABLE, CANCER. SURE!!

Enough Bioware. sometimes you just need to NOT listen to the fans. you made Mass Effect 1 without them, why the hell do you keep listening to these idiots who do not have a game design degree.

1.) giving gay players gay romances does not pervert the plot. Same Sex romances have been in Mass Effect before.....for women. For all intents and purposes, asari are women. And you have Kelly. Many people also have single Shepards, so the argument that a straight soldier "suddently" going gay doesn't make sense fails when that specific Shepard already WAS gay to begin with. Even if they weren't, bisexuality does exist. Also, personality and sexuality are two different things. You can act as flamboyant as a flaming rainbow butterfly fairy princess but still be ludicrously straight. Likewise, you can be burly and manly and still be gay. I doubt they're going to make people like Garrus gay all of a sudden so it's not like they're messing with previous characters. I think Casey even said that they won't touch the previous 'mances...so calm your nipples

2.) I agree...multiplayer has no place in ME3. However, I think that was an EA decision and not a fanbase outcry. Tbh, if they REALLY wanted to work on multiplayer, they should just make that DLC and work on it later so I can get my game sooner (because I have a feeling that the delay was primarily to give space for multiplayer dev time)

3.) Thane has been confirmed to be alive at the start of ME3 if he survived the suicide mission. Thane himself said that he has 6-12 months before his estimated death. Please note that doctors have many times given estimates and the patient ends up living longer. My grandmother, for example, was diagnosed with cancer and was told that she only had 11 months to live. That was 5 years ago....

Please keep in mind that I agree that he should die by the end of ME3. He has a terminal disease and asking for a random miracle cure in the middle of War with Cthulhu makes as much sense as the quarians getting a magical miracle fix for their immune systems from the core of a Reaper...
He should die, yes. But he can still live...ME3 starts 6-12 months after ME2...so he could theoretically have a few weeks left in him at the least...and he himself said he doesn't want to go down on a hospital bed...so his death scene will be glorious...
How long he lives, however should be dependent on several factors, like whether or not you failed his loyalty mission, whether or not you 'manced him, etc.

in other news, you should really calm the **** down...you can express your dissenting opinions without seeming like a raging ****. Then, people might actually take you seriously instead of just brushing you off as a dick or a troll...

No they excluded key members of ME1 in ME2 so they could play pivotal roles in ME3 & definitely not be dead. ME2 characters still have roles to play in the closing part of trilogy.

You guys can gay it with anyone you want.

Just not previous Mass Effect characters

EA's response to a fanbase outcry. "Look at all these people begging for multiplaye. cha ching!"

blah blahdie blah. I don't see why he needs to even get a cameo. They successfull written him out in me2. Why waste resources Bioware, why?

Too chessy. he should die as soon as possible. doing that whole dies at the end, doen't sell the whole DISEASE, DEATH IMMINENT thing.

in other news, you should really calm the **** down...you can express your dissenting opinions without seeming like a raging ****. Then, people might actually take you seriously instead of just brushing you off as a dick or a troll...

Thane had a life expectancy of about twelve months. ME3 takes place a few months after arrival. So it's pretty reasonable Thane could still be alive in ME3.

An interesting scenario would be if Thane could be save but only by using reaper tech. You get the choice whether to let him die or hook him up with some reaper cybernetics. However if you do he turns into space terminator again and you have to take him down.

Yup apparently Thane HAS to die, it would be unrealistic if he didn't....a bag of 'meat and tubes' frozen and roasted "Not a problem!...we can do that!"...:o....but a pair of Drell lungs are just beyond anybodys capacity?...

They didn't write him out more than any other ME2 character.

You 'did' play the game, right?
