Look, I agree--I like the human characters, and I love the hidden depth that comes with all the squadmates (except Zaeed, but his one-dimensionality is refreshing every once in a while).  Kaidan is incredibly resilient and level-headed, surprisingly insightful, touchlingly sweet, and unintentionally hilarious.  Jacob is solid, determined, and the only squaddie around that doesn't dump all his problems on you.  Ashley is one of my favorite characters in ME1 due to how incredibly real she is, Jack can destroy the universe and still be unbelievably adorable (WHY DO I LOVE YOU JACK), and Miranda's a wonderful deconstruction of the Mary Sue, lending a human side to the obnoxiously perfect female lead we've all wanted to strangle.  And Kasumi, well, she's just made of sunshine and badassery, so I can't imagine anyone ever hating her.

Not everyone is willing to take the time to seriously get to know their squad, and it's their loss.  But you don't need to hate on alien-lovers just because some obnoxious morons on the internet decide to spray their unwarranted hostility and obvious lack of higher cognitive functioning all over the BSN.

You're trying to fight a war that only exists because you want it to.  Politely disagree and move on.  Don't go "WELL SO AND SO IS EVEN WORSE BUT YOU DON'T CARE CUZ THEY'Z A COOL ALIEN," because that's sinking to the level of hate-spraying, low-functioning moron.

I don't give two sh*ts about who bleeds what color, and anyone worth your time doesn't, either.  Yes, the fact that something is NOT human does play a role in initial curiousity towards the character, but that wears off really fast.  So chill.

By the way, aliens don't get a "free pass."  Thane's too emo, Garrus is annoying and overrated, Tali's almost as obnoxious as her fanbase, Grunt isn't as cool as Wrex, Samara's boring, Wrex deserves to be shot for what he did on Virmire, Mordin's a baby-killer, Morinth's just evil, Liara's creepily obsessed with Shepard, and Legion shouldn't be trusted because the geth will ultimately betray organics.  This stuff has all been said, but you're ignoring it because it doesn't validate this false dichotomy you're pushing.  In fact, I think Tali-bashing is even more common than VS-bashing.

And yeah, after analyzing the hell out of every little line of dialogue myself, I can safely say I see the flaws in EVERYONE, but love them all anyway.

I'm making a point, for people like Xil who go "there's no such thing as someone hating humans and loving Aliens hurr" plus, I only say smoething when it's increibly wrong. there are tons of people who have aliens at the top of their list that I'm not quoting because their views are insightful and are just shallow "oh he's human male so I don't like him, oooh cool looking alien they're awesome and perfect!" If you're gonna rank people you might as well know everything you can about them instead of being stupid and judging a book by it's cover.

Well, Ashley (I can't remember Kaidan) does directly call Shepard a traitor, which I can understand is a sticking point for some.
Also, Tali hasn't really cut herself off from her people, certainly not enough for them to not want to nominate her for the Admiralty. And Garrus dropped nothing, he'd lost everything when he joined Shepard.

If they really are judging books by their covers, then their views will change over time as they look deeper.  If they never bother looking deeper, then who gives a rat's ass about what they think?

For example, take a look at how my opinions on squadmates changed over time (restricting to ME1 for relative brevity):

FIRST RUN
Liara - stupid fanservicey blue chick
Tali - ooh, cute
Kaidan - shut up, you're boring and I don't love you
Ashley - playing soldier, don't need you
Garrus - not as cool as my friends told me you'd be, but DAT VOICE
Wrex - pretty cool guy

SECOND RUN
Liara - lalala don't care
Tali - cute, but really, shut up, you're annoying
Kaidan - pretty decent guy, I guess
Ashley - you're kinda cool but I'm drawing the line at poetry during sexytime
Garrus - you realize you're much more of a badass in ME2, right?
Wrex - you are my bro

THIRD RUN
Liara - wow you're actually pretty awesome and the romance is goshdarn cute
Tali - hey there are subtleties in your character beyond all that codex dump after all
Kaidan - OMG, totally adorkable and lift-spamming makes you a god

Um...Garrus does listen to what Shepard says. Your apparent dislike of him seems to have given you a selective memory.

oh really? I'm pretty  sure my Shepard's tell him to go abck to C-Sec and stay there, or apply for Spectre training. Not go back quit again and go to Omega. If Ashley cn stay in the Alliance where they don't even like her family then garrus could stay in C-Sec where he was pretty high up and had his own office, they even trusted him to invesitage a damn Spectre!
