Overrated
Final Fantasy VII - The whole game was a soap opera to me. I really don't understand why it's popular.
Dragon Age: Origins - I found this game to be a total snoresville.
Final Fantasy XIII - A good game, but not as good as they say it is.
Lady Gaga - Only one song of hers was actually good. Also, an obvious Madonna rip-off.
Lil Wayne - He sucks. End of story.
Firefly - I found it to be quite boring, to be honest.
Jennifer Hale - I don't like her voice.
Pop music - The same thing over and over again, if you ask me.

Lady Gaga, Megan Fox, whatever else similar.
Coffee - It's good but really nothing special. I don't understand the people craving for it.
Energy drinks - Same as coffee.
Shows were main actors are teenagers - Enough is enough!
Mass Effect - It's not that great, really.

Have you thought that something was overrated? I know I have. If you wish, list the things you find overrated in this thread. You can list whatever you like (movies, games, social networking sites, etc.). Remember that this is all subjective and people's tastes are different.

FFVII is popular because it was the first big RPG that people had played, and nostalgia can be a dangerous thing at times. Saying that though, the praise for it has died down quite a bit. FFXIII, at least from the fanbases perspective is actually more hated than praised.
The Call of Duty series (or rather anything made in the FPS genre of late) is terribly overrated. They are well made games but I never underdstood people's fanaticism about it.

Pssh. The best part about the Melbourne Cup isn't the fashion, horses or gambling. It's the fact that all us Victorians get a day off to do it.frustratemyself wrote...

Rap music (I'm gangsta yo, and all that similar BS).
Avatar (this on bored me to death).
WOW (played it, nothing spectacular)
ME2 (when compared to its predecessor it is striped out of RPG elements in the same way as DA2 is. No idea why is it so much praised)

Well, I'm one of the few people who likes ME2 even more than Number One.
In my humble (very humble) opinion, it's nowhere near to the train wreck that DA2 is.

I can actually understand it. One of my biggest pet peeves with Firefly, much as I love it, is the lack of continuity between episodes. There isn't a central plot which the show centers around, which means you have absolutely no idea what the next episode will be about.
